Kevin's heart raced as Xander lunged at him, the shadowy blade slicing through the air with an ominous hiss. He barely managed to raise his arms in defense, feeling the impact reverberate through his bones. The force pushed him back, staggering him, but he quickly regained his footing, his eyes burning with anger.
"Is this how you greet your brother after all these years?" Xander taunted, stepping back to assess his next move. His eyes glimmered with malice, the dark energy swirling around him like a storm. "I expected more from you, Kevin."
Violett stepped forward, her fists clenched. "Why are you doing this, Xander? You could join us instead of fighting!" Her voice was firm, though there was a hint of desperation in it.
Xander laughed, a cold, bitter sound that echoed off the walls. "Join you? Why would I want to be a part of your pathetic little team? I've found my purpose! I am the darkness that will swallow this world whole!" He lunged again, swinging the blade with lethal precision.
Kevin barely dodged the strike, rolling to the side. "We won't let you do this!" He shouted, determination fueling his every word. "We're stronger together!"
"Stronger?" Xander shot back, a wicked grin spreading across his face. "You mean weaker. You're all just a bunch of misfits who don't know how to embrace true power!"
Willow, who had been standing back, finally found her voice. "We may be misfits, but we care about each other. You don't understand what it means to be part of a team!" Her conviction rang true, echoing through the tension-filled room.
Xander's expression faltered for just a moment before his rage took over again. "You think I care about your pathetic emotions? This is a game of strength, and you've all lost!"
As he swung the blade again, Enna stepped forward, her newfound black ears and tails standing tall. "Enough of this!" She shouted, her voice filled with resolve. "If it's power you want, let's see how strong you really are!"
With that, Enna charged at Xander, her own energy crackling around her. The confrontation escalated as the room filled with swirling shadows and vibrant bursts of energy. The rest of the team, fueled by their loyalty to Kevin and each other, joined the fray.
"Let's do this!" Kevin yelled, rallying the group as they surged forward, ready to confront the darkness that had once been a part of their family.
The clash of power echoed throughout the room, shadows mixing with light as the battle unfolded, each member of the team fighting not just for their own lives but for the bonds they had formed. The stakes were higher than ever, and the outcome uncertain, but they were determined to face whatever darkness Xander had unleashed.
Amidst the chaos, Kevin locked eyes with Xander once more, a mix of anger and sorrow coursing through him. "You're still my brother, and I won't give up on you!"
Xander's laughter rang out, but this time, there was a flicker of hesitation behind it. "Then you're a fool, Kevin."
As the battle raged on, the true test of their bonds and resolve was only beginning.
