Chapter 13--- Breakfast together

Breakfast together.

Bintu opened her clothings wardrobe to select her outfit for the day.

     She decided to go for a bright green red dress similar to yesterday's outfit.

    The people of the Zoma community use the dye to color the dresses they make from the goat skin to make it look appeasing.

     She wore her clothes and allowed her hair down.

    "Bintu, we're all waiting for you before starting breakyy" Tanimu complained barging into the room like he owns it.

    "Could you at least make your presence known, this is a lady's room for heaven's sake!" Bintu fired up as he barged in.

    "Lady my foot" Tanimu teased sitting on a stool by the table.

     "Let's go" Bintu said wearing a green flats as she exited the room with Tanimu.

    The duo siblings walked to the compound where a large mat is sprayed out.

    Seated on the mat were Mr. and Mrs.Audu accompanied by the mysterious stranger they took in.

    They took their seats on the empty space already kept for them on the mat as they all encircled the food.

    "We can start" Audu said to which his wife opened the bowl of the dish made from rich vegetables shredded with deer meat and a roasted potato.

    "Hmmm the aroma" Tanima sniffed as the food was opened.

     Hajra carried the bowl of food serving her husband before serving herself.

     "You can serve yourselves" she said before carrying another bowl and serving Hazbullah dropping it infront of him.

     Hazbullah was dressed up in a traditional Zoma attire of a very baggy trousers and a light topping.

    "Eat up" Ramlatu smiled at him like a loving mother feeding her child.

    The siblings looked at each other before averting their gaze back to their mother.

    "Mama serves us normally but it seems like somebody has taken our place today" Bintu whispered in her brother's ear.

    "Yes I can't wait for practice today so I'll teach him a lesson" Tanimu whispered back.

    "Is he joining us today, I doubt if he is physically strong for that" Bintu whispered in her brother's ear.

     "I don't know but I hope he is" Tanimu whispered back.

    "You do not want to eat, you're both busy whispering" Audu said to his children who picked up their bowl and served themselves.

     Hazbullah looked at the girl eating beside him, he noticed how she combines the potato with the soup as she eats them together.

    He soon followed after the actions finding the food appetizing.

    There was a long silence as they all concentrated on their meal.

    "So everyone, our stranger here can actually talk" Bintu broke the news to her family as they all stopped eating excluding Hazbullah who ate nonchalantly like he has not heard a word.

     "How?" Tanimu was the first to ask starring at the stranger who ate nonchalantly.

     "He talked yesterday's night" Bintu said.

     "Hey, talk to them" Bintu nudged Hazbullah who ate nonchalantly.

    They all laughed at they starred at her.

     "You might be hallucinating sister, I was with him this morning and he was still mute" Tanimu said still recovering from his loud laughter.

     "Tanimu is right my dear" Ramlatu said looking at her daughter.

     "She has been acting weird since after this boy's arrival" Tanimu said glaring at Hazbullah.

     Hazbullah who was nonchalantly eating gave Tanimu a side eye when he heard him calling him a 'boy'.

     "No... but I am not lying" Bintu protested while everyone gave her judgmental gazes.

     "We are not saying you are lying dear, you might just be having alot of things in your head" Audu said so as not to make his daughter feel offended.

    Bintu stared at Hazbullah before looking at the family members.

     "You...!" Bintu exclaimed pointing a finger accusingly at Hazbullah before angrily carrying her bowl and entering her room.

    "What is wrong with your sister?" Ramlatu asked Tanimu wonderingly.

     "Mama you should direct the question to this stranger, he has been eating food like nothing's happening" Tanimu defended his sister.

    "He has never tasted such delicious dish in his life" He added mockingly.

     "Tanimu keep quiet and finish your meal, we have to go to the Barewa square as usual" Audu said.

     "Also call your sister out when you're done, she knows we need her for medics at the square" he added.

     Tanimu nodded before looking at the stranger "what about the stranger?" He asked.

      "He will join us after a week or two, after he has regained enough strength, I don't want to act too hastily else he might know our plan" Audu said looking at the stranger cautiously just to make sure he is not hearing anything.

     Tanimu nodded his head although feeling dejected that the stranger will not be joining them today.

    He wanted to teach him a lesson.

   He wanted to prove to him who the better wrestler is between them.
