I heaved a sigh as my boredom enveloped me, watching as numerous students eagerly departed to witness the duels unfolding. "Today," I murmured to myself, "I promised I'd resist the urge and instead lose myself in my books."
Suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps interrupted my reverie. Peering through my doorway, I caught sight of Minerva, her face alive with excitement.
"Oh, Calliope, you simply must come and witness the duels!" she exclaimed. "I'm not sure, Minerva..." I began, but she shook her head adamantly.
"Trust me, you won't want to miss this," she insisted, seizing my hands and pulling me away from the library.
we approached the scene, I couldn't help but gasp at the sight before me. Snape and Lockhart faced off, wands poised for action. Snape, catching sight of me, offered a brief bow before refocusing on his opponent.
Before Lockhart could even make a move, Snape unleashed a spell that sent him flying backward. A soft chuckle escaped my lips
Severus glanced in my direction as I clapped, offering him a small curtsy. Lockhart seemed genuinely affected by his fall.
He sprang to his feet, casting a flurry of spells at Severus, who deftly blocked each one. But one spell caught him off guard, knocking him back slightly. Spells started to spiral out of control, careening toward the students.
Anticipating Lockhart's next move, Severus readied his wand, while I, without hesitation, retrieved mine from the crowd and disarmed Lockhart, his wand soaring out of reach.
Climbing onto the table, I shot the blonde man a disapproving glare. Extending my hand to Severus, he reluctantly accepted, albeit with a huff.
"Are you alright?" I asked, genuine concern coloring my voice. "I'm fine," he lied, though his slight limp betrayed him.
Noticing his discomfort, I gently pressed, "Your leg—I see you're limping."
"This was a duel, not a one-man show," he snapped, his frustration evident.
"Do you still have those remedies?" I inquired, raising an eyebrow.
"I don't need your assistance; I'll manage," he retorted, limping once more.
"But you're clearly not okay," I countered, my brow furrowing at his stubbornness. He sighed in defeat, allowing me to assist him to his quarters

Snape settled into his chair, he paused, the tumbler of whiskey halfway to his lips. He watched you tend to the injury on his leg, your touch surprisingly gentle, and he couldn't help but feel a pang of gratitude.
He sipped the whiskey, the fiery liquid burning its way down his throat. His gaze never left you, and he couldn't help but notice the way your eyes seemed drawn to his face, lingering on the lines that marred his feature
---
the librarian continued to tend to the injury on my hand, something stirred within me.. An uncomfortable feeling of vulnerability
I felt the need to push her away. The heat of the fire in the room feels suddenly stifling, I swallow the last of my whiskey in one swift gulp.
--
"That's enough," Severus says abruptly, his voice gruff and cold. "You can go now."
I stop suddenly, my hand hesitating in mid-air. I look up, surprised by his sudden change in mood. my eyes meet his, as I see the coldness in them, the distance that suddenly builds between you.
Anger flashes through my mind. "No," I say firmly, holding his gaze. "I'm not finished yet."
"I don't care whether you asked for my help or not," I retorted, your voice swarming with irritation. "You're hurt, and you need to have this wound taken care of properly."
.
Severus looks at you, brows furrowed. "I didn't ask for your help," he says gruffly. "And I don't need it." But then his expression hardens, and he scowls at her "Don't presume to tell me what I need," he snaps, "I don't need your help, nor do I want it. Just leave me alone."
I bit my lip, his hostility biting at you.
His words hit you like a punch in the gut, anger mixing in your chest. I took a deep breath, trying to regain my composure.
I continue to tend to his wound, his leg suddenly jerks away from me , and he snatches it back. "I said leave me alone," he repeats, his voice cold and harsh. "I don't need your pity or your concern. Just go."
Without another word, I gather my things and stand up, my movements jerky and a little resentful.
I turn to leave, but not before giving him one more glance, With my head held high, I walk away from his office, closing the door behind me.
