Calliope awoke, a sense of disbelief washing over her as she recalled the events of the previous night.

The longing to relive those moments surged within her, yet the bed now felt emptier without Severus beside her. I scanned the room, there was no sign of Severus, leaving me with a pang of yearning.

I draped one of his oversized robes around my shoulders, inhaling deeply at his scent. The aroma of breakfast entered my senses, drawing me into the kitchen where a delightful sight almost made me moan; Severus, shirtless and wearing an apron, preparing breakfast.

My arms encircled him from behind, while I kissed his cheek. "Good morning, darling," Severus murmured, his morning voice rich and warm.

"Mmm," I replied, savoring the sound of his voice. "Indeed, a good morning."

I noticed the spread of food he had prepared. "Coffee?" I asked him.

"Please," he answered, drawing me closer for a kiss. "Let me guess," I teased, pausing. "Black?"

He nodded with a chuckle.

"Black, yes," he affirmed, his voice still rough with sleep. "You know me well."

Most of my days were spent with Severus, a fact for which I never complained. People began to speculate if there was something more between us.

Today was our staff meeting for the annual winter dance. As we walked, our hands intertwined beneath our cloaks, all eyes seemed to linger on us until Dumbledore cleared his throat to begin speaking. The meeting dragged on endlessly; the only moments I found myself truly focused were when Severus discreetly ran his hands along my legs.

We hurried outside, stepping into the falling snow.

"Look, Severus, it's snowing!" I exclaimed A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he watched her excitement.

"So it is," he agreed, his voice soft

Suddenly, a snowball struck his chest, followed by giggling as Calliope darted away.

Severus' eyes widened, momentarily stunned by the unexpected attack,

"Did you just throw a snowball at me?" he asked in disbelief,

"I have no idea what you're talking about," she replied, gathering snow to form another ball.

He saw her gathering more snow, Flicking his wand, and a nearby pile of snow transformed into a perfect snowball, floating in mid-air. With a flick of his wrist, the snowball hurtled towards her, knocking her back a little too hard

Severus gasped and quickly ran towards her, only to be met with her giggles

Calliope laid in the snow.

he let out a soft chuckle, kneeling down beside her. "You're not hurt, I hope?"

"Why don't you join me?" she teased, pulling him into the snow with her

"You orchestrated this, didn't you?" he asked

"Perhaps," she murmured, kissing him softly.

Severus felt an unfamiliar sensation—one he couldn't quite bring himself to detest:

Happiness.
