Her eyes widened in disbelief as she spotted the shadowy figure darting towards the edge of the Forbidden Forest. "It can't be..." she muttered, her heart pounding as instinct propelled her forward. "Severus, wait!" she called out, sprinting towards the dark silhouette emerging from the trees.

It was him. The man from the Ministry. She knew it with a sinking certainty.

Snape whirled around, his eyes widening in horror when he realized you were running towards the mysterious figure. Anger welled up within him.

"What are you doing?" he hissed as he chased after you.

A spell hurtled towards her, and before she could react, with a swift motion, Snape grabbed you by the waist and pulled you back, shielding you from the approaching spell. His grip was firm, protective as he pushed you behind him, his wand at the ready.

"You foolish girl!!" he yelled, his voice nervous

Snape aimed his wand at the shadowy figure and unleashed a spell, his voice resolute and firm. "Stupify."

In the moment, you took a deep breath, fully aware of the solid strength of his muscular arms wrapped around you. As you exhaled, Snape became aware of his proximity and quickly pushed you away, distancing himself.

He composed himself, Calliope gaze met Severus's, finding concern and something else she couldn't quite place.

The man laughed again, vanishing into the safety of the woods, leaving them both breathless and shaken.

He withdrew abruptly, clearing his throat, his eyes flickering away from hers. "Thank you," she managed to say, trying to steady her thoughts amidst the chaos. "That's the man from the Ministry," he added, his voice low with a hint of anger at the intrusion.

"We need to alert Dumbledore immediately," Severus replied briskly, straightening his robes.
