you had dated nikki in the 70s but you eventually broke up when he started doing hard core drugs and you could be there to watch him kill himself. of course, you still supported his career and you still loved him but you loved the sober him. not the paranoid junkie shell he'd turned himself into.
and deep down, he still loved you. throughout the 80s, he subconsciously only hooked up with girls that looked like you, he closed his eyes and pretended they were you. he was deeply obsessed in his heroin induced state so he definitely never forgot you.
so in 1988, he contacted you. and by december of that year, you were back together. this proved to be both of your first healthy relationships in a decade. so it was actually pretty amusing to see you get used to it again.
nikki walked through the door, holding a bouquet of orange peonys. he saw them on his way back and thought of you so he got them. "hey, baby?" he called out.
"yeah?" you were currently folding some clothes and were to comfortable to come down stairs. you two started living together as roommates at first, mainly because nikki wanted you to be there to keep him in line and help him with staying clean. and when you got together, it was an added perk.
"can you come down here please?" he asked nicely, trying putting the flowers in a pretty blue vase.
you sigh, standing up from the bed and heading down stairs only to see your boyfriend finishing up putting some of your favorite flowers into a vase. "what do you think?" he asked, showing them off. he did have to say, he'd impressed himself. he never thought of himself as a florist before.
"theyre gorgeous," you smile, smelling the flowers before your smile fell a bit. "what are they for? its not a holiday or anything."
he shrugged. "i just saw them on my walk back, thought you'd like them."
"what?" you asked confused. never had a guy bought you flowers just because before. and you didnt believe they'd start now.
"yeah, i thought they were your favorite," he almost questioned himself, brows furrowing together under his dark shaggy hair.
"but why? what did you do that you felt like you needed to buy me flowers?"
he shrugged again, coming around to hold your shoulders. "baby, i didnt do anything, ok? i just saw them, thought you might like them, thats all. ok? i promise," he held your face in his hands.
"your sure?" you gave him one last chance.
"positive," he nodded, leaning in to press his lips to yours sweetly.
today, nikki and you had planned to run out to do some errands and you were getting ready. you were doing some simple makeup, blending in some blush when he walked into the bathroom. "why are you putting makeup on?" he asked, leaning against the door frame.
"why? whats wrong with it?" you asked, turning around and immediately assuming the worst.
"nothing," he shakes his head, stepping over to you and wrapping his arms around your waist. "you just look really pretty without it is all," he tells you, kissing you.
