Jungkook woke up to the sound of his alarm blaring in his ear, the bright sunlight streaming through his window a harsh contrast to the dark thoughts that lingered in his mind. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes, his gaze drifting to the spot where the mysterious rose had appeared the night before. The memory of the twisted petals and the ominous message still sent a shiver down his spine.

After a quick hot shower, Jungkook dressed in his school uniform, the crisp white shirt and black pants a stark contrast to his tumultuous thoughts. He tied his tie, the silver threads glinting in the morning light, and slipped on his black blazer, adorned with the school's emblem on the chest pocket. His black shoes were polished to a shine, but his eyes, though bright, lacked their usual sparkle.

Downstairs, his parents had already prepared breakfast for him. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and toasted bread filled the air, but Jungkook's appetite was nonexistent. He smiled at his parents, trying to appear cheerful, but his smile didn't quite reach his eyes, which seemed to hold a hint of unease.

"Have a good day at University, dear," his mother said, handing him a bowl of steaming hot oatmeal with sliced banana and a drizzle of honey.

Jungkook nodded, taking a bite of his breakfast. The food tasted bland, and he couldn't shake the feeling of dread that had settled in his stomach like a lead weight. His parents exchanged a concerned glance but said nothing, unsure of how to broach the subject.

After finishing his breakfast, Jungkook slung his bag over his shoulder and set out on the 15-minute walk to the university. He loved starting his day this way, strolling through the quiet streets as the city slowly came to life. With his headphones wrapped snugly around his head, he pressed play on his favourite playlist and let the music wash over him. The upbeat melodies and catchy beats always managed to get him pumped up for the day ahead.

As he walked, Jungkook's hands remained tucked deep in his pockets, his fingers drumming along to the rhythm. He breathed in deeply, taking in the sights and sounds of the morning: the sweet aroma of freshly baked pastries wafting from the nearby bakery, the chatter of passersby, and the distant hum of cars driving by. The warm sunshine cast a golden glow over everything, making even the most mundane buildings seem vibrant and alive.

With his eyes scanning the crowded sidewalks, Jungkook nodded to familiar faces and exchanged brief smiles with fellow students and locals. He felt a sense of belonging in this community, and the daily walk to university was a ritual he cherished. As he turned a corner, the sleek, modern buildings of the university came into view, and Jungkook's heart swelled with a mix of pride and nervousness. Another day of classes lay ahead, full of opportunities and challenges.

Jungkook didn't want to encounter Minsoo at all, not when he was already stressed up with a multitude of things weighing heavily on his mind and confronting him would only mean inviting more stress and anxiety into his life, so he looked down, deliberately avoiding eye contact with those who were looking at him, and started walking toward his classroom with a sense of purpose, while holding the straps of his bag tightly in his fists, but he was wrong.

As soon as Jungkook entered the class, he was immediately face to face with a smirking Minsoo.

Minsoo was leaning back in his chair with an air of confidence, his eyes gleaming with amusement.

"Oh, look who we have here," Minsoo said with a teasing tone, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

His eyes scanned Jungkook from head to toe, making him feel utterly uncomfortable and self-conscious.

Jungkook looked down, his eyes cast downward in a deliberate attempt to avoid eye contact with Minsoo, and slowly sat down in his chair, his movements measured and controlled. He completely ignored Minsoo's presence, pretending he wasn't even there, and instead gazed out of the window, his eyes fixed on some distant point outside, his mind a thousand miles away. Meanwhile, Minsoo was watching Jungkook's every moment, his eyes fixed intently on him, his gaze lingering on Jungkook's profile, his expression unreadable, as he seemed to be waiting for Jungkook to crack, to react to his teasing, but Jungkook remained stubbornly silent, his face a mask of calm, his emotions hidden beneath the surface.

Minsoo's face twisted in frustration as Jungkook continued to ignore him, his eyes narrowing into slits as he struggled to comprehend why his usual tactics weren't working. He was used to being the one in control, the one who held the power, but Jungkook's indifference was slowly eroding his confidence, making him feel like he was losing his grip. Minsoo's lips pressed together in a thin line, his jaw clenched in annoyance, as he tried to think of a new way to get a rise out of Jungkook, to break through the boy's infuriating calm and get a reaction out of him.

Minsoo's hands shot out with lightning speed, grasping Jungkook's arms just above the elbow, his fingers wrapping around them like a vice. He held Jungkook in a tight grip, forcing him to look up and meet his gaze.

Jungkook's eyes widened in shock as he was pinned to his chair, unable to move or escape. Minsoo's face was inches from his, their noses almost touching, his eyes blazing with intensity, his jaw clenched in a fierce line.

Jungkook could feel Minsoo's hot breath on his skin, his heart racing with surprise and a hint of fear. The sudden movement had left him reeling, unable to react or defend himself, and now he was at Minsoo's mercy, trapped in a gaze that seemed to burn with a fierce inner fire.

Minsoo's eyes seemed to bore into Jungkook's soul, as if daring him to look away, his pupils dilated with a fierce passion. Jungkook's face was frozen in a mixture of shock and fear. His lips parted slightly as he struggled to catch his breath.

"What's happening here?" they heard a deep, authoritative voice, like thunder on a summer day. The voice belonged to a man who was deadly handsome, with chiselled features that seemed carved from granite. His eyes were piercing blue, like the deepest ocean, and his jet-black hair was perfectly messy, framing his face with a hint of rebelliousness. His sharp jawline was accentuated by a subtle stubble, giving him an air of rugged sophistication. He stood tall, his broad shoulders filling the doorway, his presence commanding attention.

As soon as Jungkook saw the man's face, his own face went pale, his eyes widening in shock. His mouth dropped open, but no words came out, as if he was frozen in time. Minsoo, still holding Jungkook's arms, turned to face the newcomer, a hint of defiance in his eyes, but Jungkook's gaze remained fixed on the stranger, his expression a mix of fear and awe.

The figure's eyes remained fixed on Minsoo's hand, still gripping Jungkook's arm, his jaw clenched in annoyance. His eyes darkened, the piercing blue deepening to a stormy navy, as he took in the scene before him. Then, slowly, his gaze shifted to Jungkook's face, his eyes burning with an even darker intensity.

Jungkook felt the weight of the figure's gaze like a physical blow, his heart racing as he met the stranger's eyes. The figure's eyes seemed to bore into his soul, searching for something, his pupils dilated with a fierce passion. Jungkook's face went even paler, his lips parting slightly as he struggled to breathe.

"Meet your new professor Kim Taehyung,"

And Jungkook's entire existence shook.
