Summary - Mia tries to teach Charlotte the dance to Biology by Girls Aloud.

"Ok Mia, I'm ready!"

Together, Charlotte and Mia had pushed back the sofa in Charlottes living room, creating ample space for their impromptu dance class. Mia was a woman of her word, so when she'd promised to teach Charlotte the Biology dance, she'd been deadly serious.

The red head couldn't help but laugh as she looked over at her girlfriend. Charlottes hands were on her hips and she looked more determined than ever. "Don't laugh at me Mia, you know I'm not a good dancer!" Mia smirked before winking at Charlotte and saying "you're better than you think sweetheart." The brunette always doubted herself, but truthfully she was usually good at whatever she turned her hand to. Mia really wished that Charlotte would one day learn to believe in herself the way she believed in others.

"Right ok, so first you need to...Char what are you doing?" The brunette was staring at Mia and clearly paying very little attention to what she was saying. Charlotte was snapped from her daydream by her girlfriend's voice, causing her to sheepishly reply "sorry, you just look really pretty." Mia was taken aback for a moment, she'd really never met anyone quite as sweet as Charlotte and sometimes, it still caught her by surprise.

"Sweetheart, you need to pay attention, otherwise you won't pick the moves up. I'll show you without the music first ok?" Charlotte beamed in response and replied "ok, I'm listening Mia." With that, the red head started to replicate the moves slowly, to allow Charlotte to catch on. She watched the brunette mimic her movements and smiled, she was so cute. Contrary to her lack of belief in herself Charlotte picked the moves up quickly, giggling to herself as she did so.

Mia placed her hand on Charlottes waist and asked "are you ready to do it to the music?" The brunette nodded in response, prompting Mia to grab her phone from her pocket. As she did so, she realised that evenings like this were all she'd ever wanted in life. The little moments they shared, the laughter and the lack of expectations - just love. As the music started to play both women dutifully began the routine, but Charlotte was quickly distracted once again. She'd never really noticed how graceful Mia was but as she tried to follow her steps, it was suddenly all she could think about.

Shaking her head, Mia stopped the music and caught Charlottes hand in hers, pulling her into the centre of the room. She stood behind her and placed her hands on the brunettes hips, before shouting at Siri to restart the song. "Ok, so when it gets to the line, we give it up and then they take it away, that's when you put your hands across your hips, ok?" Charlotte hummed in response, waiting for the right part of the song. She closed her eyes to help her concentrate, Mia's instructions floating through her mind.

When she started to do the dance, all she wanted to do was laugh but she was determined to impress her girlfriend. When she had to turn around, she found herself face to face with Mia and immediately, the two women dissolved into fits of giggles. They didn't even realise it but in that moment, their silly little evening activity was causing them to fall just a little bit more in love.

Mia wrapped her arms around Charlottes waist and whispered "you did an amazing job sweetheart." Charlotte blushed slightly before replying "well, I did have the best teacher." Mia's eyes glistened mischievously as she asked "so, now that you know the moves, do you want to make a TikTok with me?" Before Charlotte knew it, she and Mia were filming themselves doing the dance together and as she put her hands above her head, she wondered how she'd ended up in this position. She really couldn't say no to Mia, all she wanted was to see her happy and laughing.

When they watched the video back together, it made them laugh so much they had tears in their eyes. They both felt so free to be themselves after so many of years of transactional relationships and people pleasing. "This can be our dance now" Mia said as she uploaded the video. It wasn't really about the dance, it was about the connection they felt while just having fun together. It was about the memories they were making and the freedom they felt.

In that moment, surrounded by the echoes of their laughter and the catchy pop song that would forever remind them of each other, Mia and Charlotte both felt it. They'd become part of each other's biology and as they cuddled together on the sofa, they knew that they were forever linked.
