Chapter 1

Xander Leo Redeval is Filipino with a quarter of African blood. She is intersex, possessing male reproductive organs and feminine features. However, Xander decided to live as a man because his masculine side was more evident. He has a slender body, a man bun, and is beautifully handsome.

His parents are wildlife workers in South Africa, particularly in a sanctuary that helps lions. He grew up like his parents and eventually became a wildlife worker who also protects lions. He has a best friend named Alexandra Vellado, whose parents are also wildlife workers, but they focus more on birds. Xander and Alexandra grew up together with the wildlife animals they care for.

Xander Leo's POV

"Dumarami na talaga ang mga poachers dito sa prohibited zone. Binibenta nila ang lions na nahuhuli at iba pang wildlife sa black market. Ang sasama talaga ng mga ugali."

Sabi ko na narinig naman ng mga magulang ko.

"Kaya mag ingat ka anak. Lalo't na nabalitaan nila na may inaalagaan tayong lion na descendant ng Barbary Lion. Extinct na ang uri ng leon na iyon, ngunit di natin akalain na ang dugo nito ay nananalaytay sa isang cute na lioness na nakita nating sugatan."

Si Nala, isang Barbary lion, also known as the Atlas lion, was a subspecies native to North Africa. It was distinct from other lions due to its larger size, darker mane, and its habitat in the Atlas Mountains. Unfortunately, they were driven to extinction in the wild by the early 20th century, primarily due to hunting and habitat loss.

Halos buong buhay ko ay mga leon ang naging kalaro ko maliban sa nag iisang bestfriend kong si Alexandra Vellado. We were both at the same age. 

Flashback (10 years old Leo and Alexandra)

"Alexandra, bitawan mo nga si Leo. Buong araw ka ng hawak ng hawak sa kaibigan mo. Pasalamat ka at sobrang bait lang na batang iyan."

Leo pala ang tawag sa akin ng mga taga dito sa amin. Nagsasalita rin kami ng tagalog dahil marami namang may lahing pinoy rin na nagtatrabaho dito.

"No, daddy. Leo is mine. He's not going anywhere."

Aware din sila na intersex ako pero dahil na evident talaga ang masculine side ko ay lalaki ang turing nila sa akin. Also, I chose to live as a man.

"Pasensya kana Leo ha, nakapakulit talaga ni Alexandra sayo."

"Okay lang po tito. Medyo takot rin po kasi si Xandy sa alagang mga lion cubs kaya okay lang po."
