TORI
The dinner the guys prepared was so delicious that I found myself craving seconds. I wondered if my increased appetite was due to the stitches I had earlier. Eventually, I indulged in a cheeseburger and a bacon "smash burger," as Archer termed it. I was so full afterward that I couldn't even manage a slice of the chocolate cake they had bought from the store.
"Hey, I'm going to turn in for a nap. Dinner was great. Save me a piece of that cake because I have no room for it right now," I said.
Footsteps echoed behind me, and turning around, I saw Theo. "I want to ensure you make it to your room safely."
I chuckled. "It's hardly a mile away, Theo. I can handle the brief walk to my room by myself."
Theo smiled. "Yeah, I know, but then I wouldn't have been able to do this." Theo leaned down and kissed me. My back pressed against the closed door of my bedroom. I smiled once he pulled away. "Sweet dreams, beautiful."
Once I was alone on the other side of the door, my face was beaming joyfully. It was like swiping a match on a box when Theo kissed me. It created a fire inside of me, and the compliment only made it better.
I lay on my bed staring at the ceiling, unable to wipe my smile off my face. My face was even beginning to ache from all of the cheesing I had done. Theo made me feel so giddy. I don't think I had ever had so much giddiness because of a man.
Soon, I drifted off to sleep and woke up at eight o'clock. My nap had lasted an hour, and it was very refreshing. As an actress, I didn't get many naps like I did growing up. I was all about the caffeine but hadn't had much since I got a bodyguard. Having less caffeine was good for me, but I missed it.
Now that I was awake, I decided to see what the guys were up to and eat that cake. And that cake had better still be there, or we would have a problem.
"Hey, I didn't think you'd be back down. I checked on you about twenty minutes ago, and you were still knocked out. After everything that went down today, you were tired, huh?" Theo said.
"Yeah," I said, eyeing the wine he was pouring into glasses, "where did that come from?"
"Archer picked it up at the store. Do you drink?"
"Ocassionally. Chardonnay is my favorite wine."
Theo smiled. "I'm not much of a wine drinker, but now and then, I have a glass. Chardonnay happens to be one of my favorites, too." I gave Theo an odd look. "Yes, I know it's weird to see men drinking wine. We like it too, you know."
"There is nothing wrong with that." I grabbed the glass of wine and glanced at the pool lit by the lights surrounding it. "I'm going out to stick my feet in again. Do you want to join me?"
Theo nodded. "Sure."
Theo followed me to the pool, where we sat with our wine glasses in hand and feet in the water. It was peaceful listening to the sounds of the creatures outside and seeing the sun go down.
"I want to float in the pool, but per the doctor's orders, I must wait at least twenty-four hours."
"So that's what you can do tomorrow. Don't forget the sunscreen."
I smiled. "Yeah, I don't tan. That's why I get spray tans before important events."
Theo shook his head. "You don't need them. You're perfect the way you are."
I glanced at Theo. "Perfect?"
"In my eyes, yes." Theo stared into mine. His eyes were blue with green specks again, easy to get lost in.
