It wasn't that I hated having Becky around, it was just the fact that I'd been so wound up with my unreasonable grudge against a man who never really existed and with work that it was strange to have her drop by for a change.
The pace of the events and circumstances that had led up to a particular point in my life seemed to have slowed down as the brunette beamed her honey-coloured eyes at me.
"Anya~ You've been so busy with work that you hardly call me anymore-and it's not making it any easier that you live at the end of Berlint for no reason.." Becky huffed in annoyance.
"I know I know-I'm sorry Becky, y'know how it is...never a break..." I smiled apologetically as I placed two mugs of cocoa on the table. "Well I'm glad you finally made time for me out of your busy schedule-" Becky rolled her eyes, I let out a small chuckle as I put my mug to my lips. Slowly, I took a strong sip from the cup, regretting it immediately as a small burn formed on my tongue.
Becky eyed me knowingly, "You burned your tongue, didn'tcha?"
"Maybe" I drawled as she shook her head and sighed. "Anya, I know it's been years and you've matured and everything but you need to learn to be more refined-" Her hand bumped into the vase, which spun around for a bit before going back to normal...
"You were saying?" I snickered to which she huffed again.
"Moving on..." Becky shook her head, which she then rested on the palm of her hand, "I've come here to beg you...for once...Please-come for the Alumni meet."
"Is it that time of the year already?" I groaned, "Anya! Stop grumbling! It's fun!"
"Sure is for you Becky,"
"Damian's coming..."
I raised my eyebrows, "What's that got to do with me?"
"You know what that's got to do with-Oh Anya..." She sighed dramatically, Well, I did know what exactly I had to do. Go to the alumni meet and rencontrer avec Damian.
"C'mon Anya, it's been years-"
"Alright, I'll come-"
"--I mean, I get that you don't like any of our old classmates-"
"--I said I'll come, just give me the date and timings-"
"--But you simply have to come-"
"--I said I'm coming-"
We both finished our sentences with "--to the Alumni meet", "You're coming?"
"I am," I said and Becky looked so proud of herself as she beamed happily into her coffee mug, taking a very eloquent and loud slurp."Oh my God, you finally agreed, I can't wait-" She begun to ramble, looks like the caffeine did it's wonders after all, "We'll go shopping for dresses and-"
I groaned as I slumped and started sliding down lazily on my sofa at the thought of shopping for dresses. It's all for the mission... I thought to myself.
It was all for the stupid dang mission that my dear old dad was helping me out with and nothing else, yet my heart was racing at a faster rate and I knew really well that it wasn't out of excitement but nervousness.
And then I remembered that I'd have to alert my da-Mr. Alastor for the same, which made me sit up rigidly and I stared blankly as I thought a ton of thoughts. Becky's rambling was now sounding blurry and inaudible.
Aw man, I hate this.
