Anya remembers this day better than others. This day is the day that Loid Forger, also known as Agent Twilight, betrayed her. She remembers clearly how she wasn't able to read his mind at all (Her telepathic abilities are disabled during the full moon) and that even his face held an unreadable expression.

She ran after him in the bustling city of Berlint, hastily, as fast as her little legs could move, her pink lips pursed together tightly as she eventually caught up to him. He looked down at the little girl, his oceanic blue eyes met the round, green and confused eyes of the young girl.

"Papa-" Anya huffed, "Why are you walking so fast?" she clutched onto his hand tightly, holding on as if she'd never let go. Loid felt something burn from within, it stung his heart, he was leaving, he was leaving and he will never see her again. He didn't know how to tell her.

"Anya..." His voice cracked slightly as he gently pulled her aside from the street, "I-"

"..."

"Papa...? Are you going somewhere (for a mission)?" Anya inquired to which Loid hums gently and crouches down to match her height. "Um... Your mama will pick you up from the train station..." Loid informs the perplexed pink-head not knowing what else to say.

"Oh." Anya looked down for a moment, "Papa, what are you thinking about?"

Loid couldn't hold it in for much longer, he gently pat her on the head, "I thought you always knew what I was thinking about-" he shakes his head as he lets out a non-humorous laugh,
"It's because Anya can read minds!" The little girl utters and gives him a toothy grin which slowly diminishes into a small and nervous frown. It was as if she was conscious of what she had just said. "You always do amaze me with those strange answers..." Loid gives her a small smile.

The next few minutes were spent in silence, Loid looked around, they were near the train station. He bites his lips hesitantly before letting go of Anya's hand. "Papa...?" The little girl looks up at him, hurt and more confused. He forces a rigid smile and half heartedly says, "Sorry Anya, I have to use the washroom... If your mama comes, go home with her, okay?"
"But-"
"Anya-" He gave her a sombre look to which the little girl tugged on his trousers, "Why would Anya and mama go home without papa? You're going to come back anyways..." she frowns, "Er... Like you always mention..." He tries to act amused, "I always take very long, and it is very late... so..."
"Oh Papa..." She shakes her head, "Okay then, come back safely..."

Loid pats her head once more, gently ruffling her hair before his voice cracks again, "Mhm... I'll be back soon." He gave her an affirmative smile and walked away, leaving the girl alone in the midst of a crowded train station. She waited for him to return, but seconds became minutes and minutes became hours and hours- "Miss Anya!" a familiar velvet-like voice cries out from behind. Anya flinches and swiftly turns around to find her dear mama with a worried and melancholic expression on her face. Anya, who was by now, on the verge of panic, was relieved to see a familiar face. "Mama-" Anya is cut off by Yor pulling her into a hug as she buries her face on the poor girl's shoulder, gently caressing her hair. Anya was seemingly shocked by the sudden embrace and Yor's small mumbles of, "You'll be okay Miss Anya..."

She'd read Bond's mind after her powers came back, only to find a distorted image of a very sombre-looking grown up Anya, with only Yor by her side,

Right, and hours became days, days became months, months became years and papa was never seen again. Of course Anya had retrieved her abilities after the end of the full moon but Yor simply never wished to talk about it, let alone think about it. Anya knew what happened anyways. Years later, she found the letter papa had written to mama.

After that, she never called him papa, even in her head, again.

Anya's years without her papa had made her resilient and a different person entirely. More practical, more logical, more clever, more understanding and more empathetic. She studied diligently (Thanks to Granpa and Granma Authen next door) for the sake of giving back everything Yor did for Anya and so she became an imperial scholar and a literary and art genius. Soon after she graduated Eden and left behind almost everyone, of course she still kept contact with Becky (Who believed Anya when she told her her father was working overseas) who was her best friend.

And now, she'd unexpectedly bumped into Damian Desmond.

Just brilliant.
