Chapter 34

I was starting to get hungry again. I don't know why. I eaten more since I been here then a week with my family. Its been awhile since I eat what Sean had gave me.
I had watched Owen and Victor walk out leaving me with Kota and his sister and Max. I never seen animals up close before. I remember seeing animals walk outside or flying around outside from the window.I just didn't know what they were. I'm glad Victor showed me all the animals on his phone. He always seems to try to teach me something. Like giving me that tablet and showing me how to use it. I saw video of them talking about shapes and stuff. Jezz her name is Jessica but that's to long to remember. Jezz has been sitting on the bed with me and Max. I don't understand what she is saying but she seems nice. Kota was sitting in the chair Owen always sits. He tells me he would like to take me tomorrow to see other animals at a place called a rescue that takes in abused, injured, abandoned or lost animals. He said dogs,cats, birds, and others kinds. He and Jessica go every Sunday and walk dogs for a hour or two. That he would take me to see puppies and kittens. I wonder if he would get me some more that broth, I think that's what Sean calls it. I tug on his arm and he looks at me.
"Yes, my Ten what you need?" I point to the empty cup on the table.
"Aww you are hungry and thirsty. May I show you in sign language how to ask for food and drink?" I nod. I like how they always ask me or explain things. They never yell or hit me. He smiles.
"Ok hold you hand like this, it means you are hungry.Good job. Now you do it. Good. Now hold your hand like this, it means you are thirsty. Ok one more if you want more sign. Hold your hands like this. Good job my Ten. Let me go get you something for you to eat." I smile I'm going get more food. Yay me.
"Sang, would you like to be friends?" Jezz ask me and I nod.
"Great I need friends. Before school let out for the summer. Lot of the girls and boys at school were making fun of me. Sad thing they were all my friends. But one of the boys was being nice to me and his girlfriend thought I was after him. She started rumors I was sleeping with all these guys, my brother friends. I never even kissed a guy. Well kissing my brother and my adopted brothers cheek don't count. I mean my brothers friends are cute but yuk. They my family. Shes telling them I'm getting fat maybe I'm pregnant. I'm not even curious about boys. Mom did her sex talk with me and showed me videos of babies being born. Told me she rather I didn't have sex but if I feel like might feel that way. She would rather I ask her to get birth control rather than being a grandmother. Mom is always telling me I can come to her. I'm hoping when school starts my friends will realize the girl lied about me." I don't understand all that.
"I thought something was wrong." We hear from the door. Nurse Lee was standing there with Kota who had my food in his hands. He looked upset.
"You been quiet and withdrawn for awhile. I think we all have. Unfortunately it's not much we can do about verbal bullying, if there is noone to hear. You are strong my daughter. Why dont you come talk to me later about it. I know I'm your mother, but you know I'm your friend. Maybe my next day off me and you will have a mother daughter day no boys aloud." Jezz gets off the bed and hugs her mother. Then she hugs Kota who whispers softly into her ear. Jezz eyes seems even more happy. Kota brings me over the cup. I do the food sign. He saids good job as he hands me my food. He gets Max off my bed. It makes me sad, but he said he wanted to get Max some water. I'm not sad for long as I drink my broth.
After Kota gave Max water he sits back down and pulls his phone out and touched the buttons alot. He stop to look at it and then touch buttons again. I drink my broth. I like the peices of stuff in it. I see Kota put his phone away.
"Ok I had to ask Dr Green something. I need to take Max out so he can do his business. I asked Dr Green if you can go out with me. He said a short walk in the fresh air and sunshine would do you good. He sending Gabriel out from the meeting to go with us. Said Gabe is little overwhelmed about something and a walk in the sunshine with a pretty Pookie would do him good." I nod. I finished my broth and drink when Gabe walks in looking upset.
"Are you ok Gabe?" Kota asked.
"Yeah just overwhelming news. I hear my Trouble is going to take Max out for a walk. Let me get one of those running sweatpants sets she can wear." He walks over to the bag with the clothes and picks the top one.
"Ok MrB will love this one. Grey and maroon is his favorite colors. Can you change on your own." Gabe ask. I nod.
"Ok we will wait outside come out when you are ready." Gabe saids
I change the outfit feels heavier than what I'm use to wearing. I go out the door and see Kota with Max on a rope, I see Gabe with Luke, North, and Silas. The boys just appear in groups.
"Here are some foot wear that will work until I can take you shopping." Gabe said. Picking up my feet and putting them on.
"Aggele moi look at you. I hear you going to walk Max with Kota and Gabe. Can we a company you also? Silas asks. I nod I always feel safe with the boys around. I see Jezz with nurse Lee.
They walk me to the hated elevator. North picks me up and holds me.
"I'll hold you going in the elevator Baby. Dr Green said you don't like it." He saids. I feel safe as he holds me. Even though I still didn't like the feel.
We get off the elevator. I see everything, it's so bright and I hide my face into North's shoulder as he was still holding me. It wasn't this bright when Sean took me to see the babies.
"Wait guys I think shes getting overwhelmed. Baby just breath, you are ok. Breath with me. Good Baby. That's a girl. When you ready we will go again." North saids gently I breath with him and started to relax. I feel someone rubbing my back. I look up taking a deep breath. I look around and saw my boys around me. Wait they not my boys.Silas was the one rubbing my back. I felt steady again. I looked past them and saw a man behind a desk. He was doing the hand thing like Kota showed me but was going fast to a older girl. She did the same back to him. I curled back in to North as they still held me calmly. I look back up and I see the old lady walking toward us. Kota steps in front of her.
"Sorry Mrs Rose, but can you stay back. She is scared of wemon." Kota saids. She uses her hands again at him.
"Sorry ma'am we can't say anything. I'm sure Mr Blackbourne can tell you, but we are keeping her quiet right now. She gets overwhelmed to easily and her immune system is very low. Dr Green and Dr Roberts don't want her around to many people. Yes ma'am she is ok. We were worried the first day as weak as she was. But its only been a few days and shes getting stronger. It will take little time to get weight back on her. Dr Green is only letting her eat broth right now. We taking her for a short walk with Max to get her some fresh air and sunshine. Dr Green said sunshine was best form of vitamin D. Yes I believe Mr Blackbourne is planning to formally adopt her into the family. Right now we have other stuff he needs to take care of for my brothers. Since we don't want to put her around alot of people Dr Roberts said to wait for a formal meeting. That he as a counselor knows. We just ask that you dont tell other teams right now. They would get curious and come just out of curiosity. They would overwhelm her. Thank you ma'am I'll let Mr Blackbourne to tell you about her." I watched as she did her hand stuff as Kota talked. Maybe I can do that one day. The lady smiles and then walked down another walkway. North put me in a chair on wheels.
"Ok Baby I'm going push you to the garden and then if you want you can walk and we will have the chair if you get tired." North explains he pushes me as they walk. I hear Luke and Gabe talking. He doesn't look as upset like he was. We come to something that has water coming out. It looked like the animal Kota showed me called a horse but it had something on its head. North put the chair next to it.
"Ok do you want to walk?" I nod up at him. He helped me out of the chair we left the chair there.
"I can come get it if you need it. We can pick it up on the way back." He saids. North holds my hand. Luke and Gabe walks next to him and Kota and Max walks on my other side. We came to a spot that had a picture of a dog on it. Kota gave Max a hand sign and he started to sniff around. I realized now what Kota meant by business now. When Max was done Kota put a bag over his hand and picked it up. He tied the bag and up in trash beside the sign of the dog. There was a small sink on other side of the sign and Kota washed his hands.
We started to walk again. North pointed out what he called plants and flowers. It was peaceful out here. I see Kota on his phone again touching buttons again. I heard him say to North he was letting MrB know about talking to Mrs Rose. We came to lot of water on the ground. There were white birds floating on top. Was some brown birds too. Little birds too following the bigger ones.
"See the swans, geese, and ducks look some have babies." North saids.
I start to yawn and rub my eyes.
"Someone is sleepy." Kota saids. We head back to the chair. North puts me in and pushes me back in to the hospital. He picks me up as we go into the elevator. I hold him tight. When we get out Kota takes off the rope on Max.
"Well she looks lot better from a little sun." I looked up to Dr Roberts standing there. I smile at him.
"Mrs. Rose was curious about this little bird. I told her she didn't see a bird. She said ok. But shes going to want to know about her.' He pat's my arm and then gets on the elevator. North puts me down. I walk with them. I see Max go lay down and I went sit next to him. I like petting him. I feeling thirsty I look at Kota. I make the drink sign he showed me. He smiles and goes gets me a drink. When he came back it was a different color of drink.
"Sorry was out of fruit punch flavor but this is orange if you don't like it we try a different flavor." I nod and smile after I tryed it.
"Kota did she just sign drink?" Luke asked.
"Yes I taught it to her earlier. Also Food and More. Shes very quick and smart." Kota saids
I put my empty cup on floor next to me. I put my arms around Max he was so warm and cozy. My eyes kept closing until I didn't try to open them.
