Part 3 chapter 21, 22

Chapter 21 Monday  8am

I sit in my office getting ready for a busy day of kids coming to school. We had set up 4 classrooms, 1 for each grade. Each room will have a counselor. We start at 9am. My kids are coming in at 8am to finalize their classes. I know I'm showing favoritism, but I need make sure they are in the correct classes. The teenagers are also coming in.
Saturday's meetings went good. Parents were upset but understanding. They came in with the junior and senior students. Alot of the students brought in their old report cards showing their grades and classes. We were able to update alot of students files.  Some had even had taken classes ment for a higher grade missing their grade level classes the last 2 years. We had to rearrange them to take the missing classes unless it was like English that the higher class that going one class back wouldn't have mattered. Some students was able to take another elective or study hall.
  My door opened after a knock and my guys came in with the 6 teenagers. I gave them their class sheets. 
  "So we all get to be in most of our classes together?" Andy asked.
   Connor looked happy and relieved. "You putting me in Calculus? That's grade 11 or 12." Connor ask.
   "Yes Andy King,  I put you all together so you would have each other's back. Connor Huckabee,  do you think it will be to challenging? I can put you in Algebra if you like." I say.
   "No I'd like to have Calculus, sir. It is just they will be way older then me." He saids.
   "Look Connor, we have Calculus together. I can come get you from your class, before hand and walk with you. Me and you can do our homework together." Kota saids.
  "Ok Kota, we can be homework buddies." Connor saids. He high fives Kota.
  "I also heard 2 young ladies want to learn sign language did you want to learn too?" Kota asks.
   "Yes it be good to learn. Lot of deaf people  might need help." Connor replies.
  "You all also will not have a regular homeroom. You will meet with me when we have homeroom here. First day of school and when they are giving out report cards. Ok go check out the classrooms. Mr Andy King and Mr Randle King check in with Axle in his room to help make sure the animals are okay." I say as they left. I get up and go to the sophomores registration room. A couple of office people are helping me. I sit in my chair to get ready.

10am

  The kids were at first starting to come in slowly. Me and my helpers work with the kids. It was starting to get busier. I hear a commotion outside the door.
  "Don't skip, wait your turn" was being shouted outside. I nodded to my helpers who could handle the kids in here. I go outside the door into the hallway. At the senior line, 8 kids were pushing other kids to try to get into the front of the line. One boy punched another boy pulling him out of line. Another bigger boy tackles 2 other smaller boys. The last boy really didn't do anything other then take the spot in front of the big boy. The girls were also punching, scratching and pulling girls out of line and taking their places. I talk on my walkie to the office and resource officer John Lewis we had a problem at the senior's line. Dr Leget, Mrs Ratts, and John Lewis came over with Chief Wallis and 3 more officers that were helping out today. I walk over to the kids.
  "Ok I need  you, you, and you 2 boys as well. Also you 4 girls to come with us to the office." I say they had sour faces and refusing to follow.
   "We don't have to. This is our school and all the kids know it. You better learn it too." The one I remember was Greg said. I lifted my eyes at him, staring him down.
   "Boys and girls you will walk to the office now. You don't disrespect our teachers and staff." Mrs Ratts saids firmly.
   "I remember you 2 old people. My daddie's friend retired you. Like Greg saids we rule this school." The girl Jade saids.
   "Ok you 8 stand here and do not move. You other children please move to the other side of the door and back up. I don't want anyone to get hurt. The children they attacked please go to the nurses station to be looked at they will also document your injuries." Dr Leget saids and the kids did as he asked. The boys and girls injured went to the nurses station.
  "Now you see the notices we put by each door that we have video security cameras in our school. So since you are all 17 we are going to let these nice officer take you in for assault to others. We could have just gone to the office to call your parents." Dr Leget saids.
   "You would not dare. Mayor Toomey will straighten you out. Our parents would be suing you." Jade saids getting on her phone.
  "Mother they arresting us for no reason." Jade saids.
  Chief Wallis was asking other officers to come to the school. Mrs Ratts decided to get the kids to go to another room and hallway to be out of the way. Shutting the doors. The one docile boy left his friends and went over to Dr Leget.
  "Sir, I will go with you to the office. I always get pulled into my twin sisters group." He saids shyly.
  "Thank you son. Go and wait in the office on the bench." Dr Leget saids allowing him to go.
   "Jay get back here you idiot. You suppose to do as I say." Jade called after her brother.
A smartly dressed woman comes into the hallway. "Who is threatening my children." She demands.
  "We are going to take them to the jail and book them for assault on other children. We asked them to go to the office and we would have taken care of it there." Dr Leget saids.
   "I don't believe you. I have well behaved children. Where is my son, Jay?" She asked.
   "He wasn't the one hurting the other kids was just following along. He asked to take care of it in the office." Chief Wallis saids.
  "You need proof and I think you are just targeting them because of their father was arrested under false evidence." She said with that air of righteousness.
  "We have proof. Here look at the video." Dr Leget saids and shows her the video.
   "You didn't have my permission to video my kids." She said angrily.
   "Yes we did. We also have notices up. A big one at each door. Now we are arresting these kids." Chief Wallis saids as more officers came in and started to handcuff the kids. They picked up the kids stuff. Then 2 lady officers showed up.
  "We have to search everyone. Does anyone have anything on their person or your bags we need to worry about?" Chief Wallis ask.
   "You can't search us or our stuff." The big guy saids.
   "Right Rocky, they cant," Greg saids.
   "Yes we can as you are in our custody at this point. So again do you have anything on your person or in your stuff?" Chief Wallis ask.
   "We not telling you, old man" Greg saids.
   "I am calling our lawyers dont think you can get away with this." The lady saids.
  The 2 lady officers started searching the girls. They pulled little bags off them.  2 of the male officers started searching Rocky and the other fellow with them. They also took baggies off them. The other boy also had 2 pocket knifes on him. The other officers who were not restraining someone was baging everything with numbers and taking pictures.
  The lady officers went to Jade and the last girl I remember from the mall. They found more baggies. Jade also had a ziplock bag full of cash.
Dr Leget went back to his office to bring the other boy back.
  "I promise I don't have any weapons or drugs on me. You can search me. I never helped them. I knew, but I didn't help. Also Greg sometimes has a gun on him" Jay saids. One of the officers searched him and let him go back to the office.
   They were trying to get Greg to stand still and let them search him. He struggled and kick. Kicking one officer in the crotch. The officer went down in pain. Greg was also spitting and trying to bite.
  "Son you just causing yourself more charges." Chief Wallis saids pulling his hurt officer out of the way. Another officer came in with his dog who was barking and growling.
  "Boy stop right now." The K-9 officer saids. The dog growls got louder. The sound of the dog, made me want to sit and stretch out on the ground. Greg was pumped up on to much anger to care.
  "SON settle down or we will taz you." The Chief saids. Greg went and kick the dog. The K-9 officer tazed Greg who barely felt it. You don't kick a police dog. Got it. They all sat on him tying his feet  bending his knees tying the tether to his handcuffs. He finally couldn't move. They searched him and pulled out a 9 millimeter gun and clips. They also found more drugs and  3 ziplock bags, the big ones full of cash.
   "Can I have a ambulance to the school to check a suspect we had to taser." Chief Wallis saids over his walkie. He looks at me.
  "This could have gone differently." He saids, nodding at the gun. I nodded. Dr Green and his nurses came into the hallway to check everyone even Greg. When the paramedics get here, he uses their tool to take out the needles of the taser. The officer Greg kicked was going to be ok.
  "I as so glad he didn't hit directly, but hit my inner thigh. Still hurt like fire." The officer said. Chief Wallis had another officer take him the the emergency room to check him and get pictures.
The dog was ok too. His handler was going to take him to the vet to make sure.
   "Why is it when you are around my life becomes interesting?" Chief Wallis ask jokingly.
  We got the kids moving again after they cleaned up the scene. Chief Wallis helped gather information. I went back into the room I was doing schedules in and got back to work. It didn't take long as we only had to go over what electives were available at the time slot they had. After 1pm we was done. Any kids that didn't make it today would have to deal with what we put them in.
   I go into the main office and grab a tea. Then see Dr Leget office was closed and through the glass you could see him talking to Jay and the upset lady from before. Jay just nodded. Finally they come out.
  "Now Jay, you will have 2 weeks of in school detention and you can't play football for the 2 weeks. Also you will miss the homecoming game. I will have your teachers assign you work to do in detention." Dr Leget saids.
  "Thank you, Sir I honestly just followed my sister because my dad always made me." He saids.
   "Well son I can't promise you are off the hook for anything else. The video showed you didn't hurt anyone. Take this as a warning and work on yourself. I know you can raise above this." Dr Leget saids. Jay and his red faced mom left.
   "I believe the boy. He shows remorse. If he needs me to stand up in court for him I will. The students they hurt were not badly injured. I had the child psychology, Lily Anderson come to talk to them and help them set up their schedules." He saids.
  "Also that Greg might have accidental swallowed his own pills. Supposedly one way they get kids hooked on drugs is he would make girls kiss him. He have a pill in some kind of pouch in his mouth. Before he kisses said girl he would break the pouch with his teeth and as he kissed them he would push the pill into the girls mouth. Jade did the same with boys and gay girls. Least that is what Jay told Chief Wallis. Once they were addicted the kids would pay for another hit. Jay said is also how girls don't remember the parties. He is going to the police station to tell them everything." Dr Leget said. You can see how upset he was for his kids.
  "Well it seems alot of why we are here is getting answered." I say.
  "Yes it is. All I care about is that my students are safe." He responds. We separate and I go outside for some air. My family was out there with the teenagers. Kota and Luke were teaching all 6 sign language. The others were helping. They were not as knowledgeable as Kota and Luke but they knew enough to start helping with the basics.
  "Are we ready to go?" I ask. The 6 teenagers signed yes spelling it out. "Good job. How about we stop for icecream at that place that adds stuff in it before we head to Uncle's house?" I say they all signed Yes again. We head to get some icecream.
  When we got to Uncle's house the twins signed to Sang  who signed back. Uncle and the farmers took Sang and the teenagers up to ride the horses. I was glad Sang was opening up more with others. Is it bad I miss my quiet time with her.
  Sean came in looking tired and sat with me.
  "Well the officer that got kicked will be ok. Just bruised. He is taking either few weeks off or desk duty until it is healed and he can run without pain. Also the girl you had Dr Leget give the card to came in while I was at the hospital with the officer. Dr Roberts said he will take care of her. I just thought you would like to know." He said and I nod.
     We sit and relax I told him how the teenagers were outside the school with Kota and Luke learning sign language. How the twins came in signing to Sang and they all went up to see the horses.
  "I'm glad she is opening up more. She still doesn't want anyone to touch her that is a girl. Maybe with time." He saids. We sat quietly enjoying the  peace of the afternoon.
