Chapter 44
Victor

I wake yawning. I see its still early, but we all need get up early. Least me,Gabe and Nathan. MrB will probably go. Dr Green may have to work. He was off yesterday. I see Kota eyes are opened. Hes probably counting us. He don't think we know. I even see MrB eyes open. I just lay here. I see Sang with 3 dogs around her and a kitten curled up in her arms. Wonder if Kota realizes Max is with Sang. I see its almost 5:30am. We need to be there at 7:30am. It starts at 8am. I need to get up. He said we need water and snacks in case it takes awhile to get to us.
  "Just get up Victor and Kota I see you awake. Get ready I'll go start breakfast. " MrB whispers softly as he gets up. Mmmm MrB cooking yay he is a good cook. I get up and get my clothes and gets ready.
   I go into the kitchen and see Kota cooking bacon. MrB is making homemade biscuit dough. I see North cutting peeled potatoes into small cubes. I'm not a cook. I was never taught. Mom probably be traumatize if she ever saw me cook.
   MrB greases a baking sheet then rolls out the dough on a floured surface and using a glass to cut the biscuits out. He places them on the cookie sheet. He puts them into the oven. He takes over the pan after the bacon was done. He pours off most of the grease into a clean jar. He then puts flour in with the leftover bacon grease still in the pan browning the flour using a fork to stir it so it didn't burn. He then added some can milk then he adds water. He let's it cook then he takes the pan off to a burner the was not on, to let it thicken. He gets a large pan added some of the bacon grease from the jar. He lets it get hot then adds the potatoes he fries the potatoes until they are soft and browned. He pures the potatoes into a bowl lightly cleans the pan with a paper towel. He then adds little bacon grease. North hands him the bowl of eggs he been beating. Mrb added the eggs using the fork to stir it in the pan until the scrambled eggs were done. North brought out some mixed fruit in a bowl from the refrigerator. By time he was done everyone was awake. Bacon cooking was a good alarm clock. We all ate. Mrb put a little bit of egg, potatoes, half a biscuit and tiny bit of gravy and fruit for Sang. Yummy southern breakfast. Number one ingredient is love.
  After we ate we all went to the courthouse. We did leave the animals because we didn't have vest or certificate for them being service animals.
We get there before 7:30 am. Mr Mason is waiting for us.
  "Hello my friends. I got us a meeting room until they call us.  Thought we can go over some stuff." Mr Mason said. We follow him into a big meeting room. We all sat down.
   "Ok I got with the bank they have filled out the paperwork. There is everything you need to fill out I marked all the places you need to sign. I did add everyone's name. So make sure you sign by your names." He saids,
   "Next business. You can open a nonprofit and if you are running it you can do with it as you will. If you pay the teachers directly then donate not the money but the teachers." He saids
  "Mr Kegels  said he be here today for Victor. Victor you might want to check in at your house. I drove by it on way here I didn't see any reporters yet. But your staff need know what's happening." He saids.
There was a knock and Mama Lee and Jessica come in.
  "Sorry to interrupt. I could not leave my boys today." Mama Lee saids as she came in.  She went to sit next to Uncle with Jessica.
   Jessica gave Uncle a hug. We could hear him saying "Hi my sweet Little Bit."
  We had another knock and Dr Roberts and Mr Kegels came in. Mr Kegels had the box.
   "Welcome gentlemen. Ok any questions?" Mr Mason asked.
    "Yes I have a question for Mr Kegels. Do you know if there was ever a unicorn fountain at the the Morgan estate?" MrB asked. Why would he want to know that.
    "Why yes. Its still there. Its been hidden with bushes and it is very overgrown. Victor's mother didn't like it but wasn't aloud to remove it. The 'M' in the gates were turned also. They were supposed to be 'W'. Your father thought to have them turned upside down for his name Morgan. We decided it was not worth the fight at the time as they could be turned back later." Mr Kegels saids.
  "I will go to my house and get people out to repair the gate and this fountain. Let me know anything else that needs repaired."I say.
  "After we done here. I will go with you. Young Mr Taylor, Mr Korba, Mr Lee, and Mr Griffin will go pick up the stuff for the cook out. Dr Green  I believe will go to work for a few hours. Rest of you go get the grills out and area prepared with tables." MrB saids. Then there was a knock. A man looked in.
  "Sorry to interrupt but the judge is ready for a Mr Morgan, a Mr Griffi,  a Mr Colman, and their lawyer. The rest may come in too. Follow  me." The man saids. We follow him into a small courtroom. It was empty except the judge and a lady on some tiny typing thing.The man motioned everyone, but Mr Mason, me, Gabe, and Nathan to stay where the benches were. We followed the man to in front of the judge at a table.
   "Hello Mr Mason these are the young men? Ok let's start with Mr Griffin. For the record this is case 854327. Mr Nathan Griffin is being declared emancipation from his father. His father signed it. I believe it was agreed to not press charges of negligence, child endangerment for leaving a child home alone without supervision, and child abuse. We will honor that agreement along with a no contact order. Report if you see him and he doesn't leave, call 911 if he should threaten you. Now you also want to change your name. Mr Mason wrote  your last name is to be changed into Lee. I grate this motion. Please sign these documents. Thank you Mr Nathan Lee. My law clerk will make a copy into the file then give you your copy." The judge saids.
  "Now Mr Colman for the record this is case 854328. Mr Gabriel Colman  is being declared emancipation for his stepmother. She as signed it. You are giving her the 1/8th acres with a 2 bedroom trailer. You are also not going after her for abuse either. We will honor that. There's a no contact order.I believe you are allowing her to contact you if her unborn baby needs you. I reacted it to she can contact your lawyer or the court and we can decide if its contains to the baby. You also put in for a name change. Mr Mason wrote down you wanted to change your last name to Taylor. I grant this motion. Please sign these documents. Thank you Mr Gabriel Taylor. My law clerk will make a copy into the file then give you your copy." The judge saids.
  "Last we have Mr Victor Morgan, for the record this is case 854329. Mr Victor Morgan is being declared emancipation from his parents. As they have not signed it, I had to look into why and I I agree. I grate the motion from evidence of abuse, by making him perform against his wishes and getting money from his perfomances. It falls under labor laws. He was forcing you to preform so he could make money. I also have evidence of him was going to make you perform while a Dr Roberts said you can't preform for at least a year maybe longer. The parents then ignored a no contact order. And threatened and verbally abused Mr Morgan, when the father and mother were being arrested for breaking the no contact order they were found to have huge amounts of money and drugs on them. The upper courts have them in lock up until they go to trial. They are still under the no contact order. You also wish to change your name. But you want to change your whole name. Mr Mason as put down Mr Phoenix Victor Westmoreland. I grant the motion. Please sign these documents. Thank you Mr Phoenix Victor Westmoreland. My law clerk will make a copy into the file then give you your copy." The judge saids.
  "Does anyone have any questions. No.  Off the record. Ok have a good day. Dismissed." The judge saids then he starts writing in the folders.
  The law clerk who was the man that brought us in came over and handed  all the files to Mr Mason then motioned us from the room.
  "Well that was short and sweet like a well oiled machine." Gabe commented.
  "Yes Mr Lee it's how it is most of the time. Here's your copys gentlemen. Remember to go change your name on everything. Keep these with you until you get your licenses change. Go get your social security information changed. Credit cards. Bank accounts. I'll make copies and send to your lawyers with the wills. Aa Mr Kegels are you happy now to give Mr Westmoreland his box?" Mr Mason asked.
   "Yes here you are. I'd open it in a secure location. If you have any questions please call. Have a good day." Mr Kegels saids. He hands me the box and walks away. I turn to MrB. Did you want to drive. Ill let them take my car." I said looking at the box.
   "Of course. We will drive Dr Green to the hospital first on the way his car is there." MrB saids.
   "Dr Green can ride with me I'm heading back. I just wanted to be here for my boys." Dr Roberts saids. We all left.
  Me and MrB pull up and the guard let us in. We drive up to the house I see a bunch of tall bushes like in a square. I'm surprised I never noticed it before.
As we get out of the car Hunter Jackson met us at the door.
"Mr Morgan we have been worried about you even though your lawyer has said you was fine." He saids.
"I'm sorry I should have come or called sooner but I had alot to do. Also I just had my named changed to Phoenix Victor Westmoreland. This use to be the Westmoreland estate. Until my father. Can you get someone to change the Crest on the gate. It supposed to be the other way in the letter of a W. Also  I need the gardener to either dig up those bushes or cut them down." I said pointing to the hedge.
  "Of course. We had all the stuff in both of your parents rooms that was theirs boxed up. We moved it to a off property location. We are cleaning the rooms. Did you want to move into any of them." He asked.
  "No clean them then close them off. I am thinking of letting the historical people offer tours, but not of my rooms or living areas  like my guest rooms near my rooms. Like how the do Graceland. There be no smoking or food allowed past the gate." I say as we walk into the house. I really hate the house. It could be a museum. I see Chase Jackson coming out of the back.
  "Mr Morgan dont scare us like that again we were so worried." He saids.
  "I have changed my name to Phoenix Victor Westmoreland, and I'm sorry to scare you. I just had alot happened. I will not be around much. Please take care of the house. Get the maids to work on cleaning the house. Get the drapes and everything cleaned and restored. Here's a card for Mr Kegels. He is the attorney for the estate. See if he can come out to survey the house and property to see if anything has been tampered with and get it fixed. Once fixed cover the furniture to protect it." I say.
  "Yes sir Mr Westmoreland. Anything else." He asked.
  "No just keep my room and my guests rooms open. Any of my friends may show up needing a place to sleep. Me and MrB are going over to that hedge to look." I say and headed back outside to the hedge. I find a slight opening where the hedge had died. I push through it. It was a unicorn fountain. Dirty but it looked like the one at the hospital.
  "It is the same as the hospital and the plantation house. Somehow its connected. Is there anything else you need to do." MrB asked.
  "No let's go home. This house was never home. My family is my home." I say." We leave and head back to Uncles.
  When we get there I take my box and sit it on the coffee table.
   "Did you want privacy to look at that." MrB ask.
   "No I want to wait until all my family and friends are here tonight." I say. I leave the box and we go look for everyone. North, Luke, and Kota  were helping Uncle in the kitchen. North was preparing the meat for the grill. Luke was peeling potatoes. Kota was cutting apples. Uncle was cooking something.
  "Uncle I see Kota is cutting apples did Dr Green talk you into apple pie." I say.
  "No he hasn't yet, but I hes a good boy. I'm making him pie and rest of us  Apple crisp." He saids. Mmm yummy.
  I follow MrB to the back yard. We find Axle and Marc cleaning the grill. Everyone else was raking and picking up branches that fallen d5. Over to one side was alot of folded tables and chairs. Also were bags of stuff sitting on the one table that was opened. The dogs were running around playing. Sang was sitting on a chair with the kitten on her lap. She watched everyone. One of the dogs were always coming over and touch Sang and go back to play.
I pull up a chair next to her. I relax watching everyone. I wish I could join them, but I know MrB would tell me to take care of my hands. They don't hurt anymore, but Dr Roberts saids that's when its the worse time to really hurt them. If when they stop hurting you forget they are hurt and over do it. He only letting me work on the computer as long as I only do it for short periods of time. He knows I'll go nuts or more nuts if I cant be own it. Funny after we got Sang I haven't felt the need to get on the computer.
  I feel a small hand touch and hold my hand. I see Sang look and smile at me. She is so sweet. We go back to watching everyone. I'm home.
