Chapter 6

Valeria's POV

"So, do you guys want to match for Halloween or just do a free for all?" Nessa asked

"Girl do you know how hard it is to plan a 4 person theme?" Nicole stated. "I think we should just do whatever we want, that way it's not too complicated."

"Okay but we are going to Katie's Halloween party right?" I asked.

"Pues si ya que, no one else is having a party," Brenda said, "like I like them but I just feel like they have a different vibe when it comes to parties."

"Why? Because they'll play Taylor Swift?" I said laughing.

"Well you hangout with Liv so much that she put you on Billie Eilish" Nessa said.

"Oh relax, it's one song."

"That's how it starts," Nicole said and we all laughed.

"No I think it'll be fun," I said.

"Are you going to invite Carlos?" Brenda asked.

"Ugh I don't know, I don't want to feel like I have to entertain him the whole time. Plus we've only hung out like twice."

"Yeah but girl he's CUTE," Nessa said.

"Pues aver que, igual, if I'm bored I'm sure he won't mind a last minute invite," I added. "Anyways I have to go talk to my English teacher before lunch is over" I grabbed my backpack and headed towards English class. I turned in a paper for extra credit then headed back to the quad. My eyes instantly fell on Liv who was laughing at something her friend said. How did that always happen? Why did I always find her?

"Hey," I said as I approached her and her friends.

"Oh hey," Liv's face lit up, "We were just talking about the party Saturday, you guys are still coming right?"

"Yesss, if I can find a costume."

"We're going shopping after school if you want to come with?" Ashley offered. I really didn't want to. If it was up to me, it'd just be Liv and I that went shopping together, but Liv always hangs out with my friends and I feel like I never do the same.

"I have basketball practice that ends at 5, is that okay?" I asked just as the bell rang.

"That's perfect," Morgan added.

I didn't even think about the fact that I'd have to go shopping with Liv's friends all sweaty after practice. Great I thought to myself. Liv said she'd pick me up since all of us didn't fit in one car. She was already waiting for me when I made my way to the front of the school. Sam was in the car with her.

"Hey," I said as I got in the backseat of the car.

"Heyy," they both said.

"How was practice?" Liv added

"Tiring," I said, "what have you guys been up to?"

"Nothing much, we were just at Liv's house, trying to see who could get us alcohol." Sam laughed. We arrived at the halloween store and the other girls were already inside waiting for us. I walked next to Liv out of habit and of course because I felt the most comfortable with her.

"Finally," Morgan said as she saw us walking in, "I thought you guys were never going to show up."

"Relax, we got here like 5 minutes late," Sam said. Andddddd that's why I never like hanging out with them. The vibes are always off and it always feels like there's some sort of animosity, especially from Morgan. I chose to ignore it and stuck to Liv's side.
