Valeria's POV

I felt on top of the world.

I couldn't believe my team and I managed to go undefeated. It was such a surreal feeling, I was trying to take it all in. We were going to the playoffs, and if we kept up this winning streak, we'd be in the State Championship game. I didn't want to think too much about all that was to come, I wanted to enjoy the night first. I went home to shower and change before heading to the party.

"A donde vas?" My mom asked.

"Out to celebrate with my team" I responded, "I'll be back late."

"Be safe sweetie" my dad responded.

"We're really proud of you amor" my mom added.

"Thank you guys, love you!" I headed out the door. I drove to Olivia's to pick her up.

"Hey" she smiled as she got in the car.

"Hey, you look cute" I smiled.

"Thanks" she blushed. "Oh my god, let me send you the pictures we took, they're so cute."

"Yesss please I want them."

"Done" she turned to look at me, "You look amazing" she stared me up and down.

"Stop" I got nervous, "We're headed to Nessa's first is that okay?"

"Yeah forsure."

We pregamed at Nessa's since her sister was taking us to the party. Once we showed up, there was a decent amount of people. Hayley didn't want this to be huge so it was really only the basketball team and our friends that were invited. I kept tabs on how much I was drinking but my friends definitely weren't.

I was having a great time with everyone, Olivia never straying too far from me. I'm glad she was having a good time even if most of the people here weren't people she hung out with regularly. I know she only came for me and I appreciated that. We were dancing in the dim living room, I could feel Olivia's hand grazing mine and each time we touched, tingles shot up my arm. She grabbed my hand and interlocked our fingers while we sang along to a song. I felt overwhelmed by everything going on around me, and any form of contact with Olivia never helped clear my mind.

We were singing and without me realizing it, our faces were inches from eachother. Olivia's eyes were glistening in the dark, as if she was in a trance fixated on me. She looked down at my lips then back up to my eyes. I wanted to kiss her, I really did, but I came to my senses and remembered we were surrounded by people. I backed away and let go of her hand. The confusion and hurt on her face instantly made me feel like such an asshole.

"I'm gonna go get some air" she told me.

"I'll come with" I offered.

"N-no it's okay. Stay here" she looked down and I saw her make her way to the front door.

"Where'd Liv go?" Brenda asked.

"To get some air" I said.

"Guys another shot!!" Exclaimed Nicole. I grabbed the shot and took it with my friends. What the hell was I doing? Was I really just going to leave Olivia outside alone?

"Be right back, I'm gonna go check on Liv" I told my friends.

"Ok but hurry up bitch" Nessa said.

I went outside, she wasn't in the front yard. I walked to the end of the driveway looked to my left, nothing. I turned to my right and saw a figure sitting on the curb two houses down. I walked towards the person sitting, as I got closer I confirmed it was her.
