Valeria's POV

By Friday morning, I was no longer running late to school. My parents were always so supportive of me and since my mom was no longer working, she always had a packed lunch ready for me. My brother was 2 years younger and tended to take up a lot of my parents time. Before heading to school, I checked my phone and Brenda asked if I could give her a ride.

"Hey," she said as she got in my car.

"Hey," I smiled.

"Ugh thanks for picking me up, my dad has to take my car to the mechanic."

"What's wrong with it??"

"I don't know, just a check up I guess? Quien sabe," she laughed, "anyways, what are you going to wear to the party tomorrow?"

"Girl I have no idea, I don't even feel like going anymore."

"No no no no, don't start," she said, "you know Nessa really wants to go and I don't want to be home."

"I knowww," I protested.

"You can borrow anything of mine," she offered, "you guys can actually come get ready at my place."

"That's not a bad idea, I'm pretty sure you live close to Victor right?"

"Yeah, I think he lives like 5 minutes from me."

"Great, that way we don't need to find a DD," I smirked.

I found a parking spot next to Nessa and Nicole's car. Our friends were waiting for us, then we walked towards campus together. This school was huge with something like 1,600 students attending. I saw a new face everyday , but I could never go a day without seeing Liv.

As we were walking, I saw Olivia hanging out with her friends. Her group consisted of  Morgan, Ashley, Sam, and Katie. They were the popular girls and everyone loved them. As for myself and my friends, we could care less about them, aside from Olivia of course. The girls were pretty, but Olivia was by far the prettiest girl in that friend group. I don't know why Olivia didn't like to acknowledge how gorgeous she is. I glanced their way because I wanted to see her. We made eye contact and I smiled, feeling my cheeks get warm. She smiled back, and I kept walking with my friends.

"Val wait!" I heard Liv shout. I stopped to wait for her, "I'll walk to first period with you," she said showing off her perfectly straight white teeth. She greeted my friends and we made our way through the sea of students.

When 1st period was over, I waited for Olivia outside the classroom.

"Hey so I was thinking that we've hardly hung out this week, want to get lunch today?" She asked.

"I know I'm sorry," I gave her an apologetic look, she never broke eye contact with me. "Yes, lunch sounds great, I'll meet you in the quad?" I asked.

"Okay," she said then headed in the opposite direction of my class.

I told my friends not to wait for me during lunch. Liv and I typically go to lunch once, sometimes twice, a week together. My friends always tell me to just invite her to lunch with all of us, but there's something nice that it's just us two hanging out. It feels like we are able to spend some quality time together. I patiently waited for her in the quad.

"Hey," I heard a familiar voice behind me that caused me to smile.

"Hii," I said and gave her a small hug.

"Ready? Lets go," she said.

Olivia drove us to our favorite sandwich spot, thankfully we beat the lunch rush. There was an empty picnic table we set our stuff down on.
