The morning light filtered through the blinds, casting a soft glow over the empty room. Airene woke up with a heavy heart, her mind still clouded from the emotional turmoil of the previous night. Quietly, she packed her clothes, her movements deliberate but filled with a sense of finality. As she opened the door, she glanced one last time at the room she had shared with Jimin, but her gaze was met with a heart-wrenching sight.
Jimin lay on the floor outside the room, a mess of tangled sheets and tear-streaked cheeks. His face was swollen from crying, and the sight tore at her heart. But with a deep breath, she stepped over him and left the apartment, placing a note on the kitchen table.
Note:
I won't be returning. Please do not try to find me. You deserve to be with someone you truly love. I hope you find happiness. Goodbye. With the note left behind, Airene walked away, her steps echoing in the empty hallway as she left behind the life she once knew.
Almost noon had passed by the time Jimin was jolted awake by the persistent ringing of his phone. He groggily picked it up, his heart sinking as he saw it was Jungkook calling.
"Hyung, it's taken care of," Jungkook said, his voice reassuring. "I dealt with the situation at the club."
Jimin felt a wave of relief wash over him, his tense shoulders relaxing. "Thank you," he whispered, his voice barely audible.
After hanging up, Jimin slowly got up from the floor, his body aching from the rough night. He noticed that Airene's room door was still closed, and he assumed she was still asleep. He headed to the bathroom to freshen up, hoping that a shower might clear his foggy mind.
When he emerged from the bathroom, refreshed but still haunted by the night's events, he made his way to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. As he walked towards the table, his eyes fell upon the note Airene had left.
His heart dropped as he read the words. "I won't be returning. Please do not try to find me." The finality of the note hit him like a ton of bricks. He sank into a chair, his body trembling as he broke down into tears, the weight of her departure crashing over him.
Desperately, he wiped his tears and rushed to get dressed. With a urgency, he grabbed his phone and called Jungkook, his voice shaking with desperation.
"Jungkook, it's Jimin. Airene... she's gone. She left a note saying she won't be coming back. I need your help. Please."
Jungkook arrived at the usual spot where he and Jimin often met. As he pulled up, he saw Jimin pacing frantically, his movements erratic and filled with desperation. Jimin's eyes were wide, his face pale, and his breath came in short, uneven gasps.
Jungkook rushed over to him, grabbing Jimin's shoulders with a firm grip. "Hyung, calm down. What happened?"
Jimin's voice was trembling as he recounted, "I found the note Airene left. She's gone. I checked the CCTV footage—I saw her leaving with her luggage. She's disappeared, and I don't know where she's gone."
Jungkook's eyes narrowed with concern. "Alright, we'll figure this out. Let's think clearly. The first person we need to find is Taehyung. He's the one who might have some idea about where she could be."
Without wasting any more time, they both quickly got into Jungkook's car. The drive was tense, filled with anxious silence as Jimin stared out the window, lost in his thoughts. Jungkook kept glancing at him, trying to offer silent reassurance.
They arrived at Taehyung's penthouse, the luxury building looming over them as they approached the door. They wasted no time; Jungkook kicked it open with a swift motion, and both men stormed in.
