Before I could even register what was happening, Lola delivered a brutal kick to my stomach. The impact was like a sledgehammer, knocking the wind out of me and sending me crashing to the ground. The pain was so intense that tears sprang to my eyes, and I curled up, clutching my abdomen, trying to breathe through the agony.
In that moment of vulnerability, with my body wracked with pain, my mind instinctively cried out for Jimin. "Where are you when I need you, Jimin?" The thought echoed in my mind, surprising me even as it surfaced. Not Taehyung, but Jimin. He was the one who came to my mind in this moment of desperation. Just then, a scream of pain cut through the night air. Lola's voice, sharp and panicked, followed by Shirin's frantic shouting. "What the fuck did you just do?" Shirin's voice was laced with fear, and I forced my eyes open, blinking through the tears to see what was happening.
A figure stood before me, clad in a black leather jacket, moving with a dangerous grace. My vision was blurry from the pain, but as the figure knelt down beside me, I recognized him. JUNGKOOK. Relief washed over me as he gently helped me to my feet, his strong arms supporting me. I winced as I stood, still clutching my stomach, and looked over to where Lola was standing. She was holding her nose with both hands, blood streaming down her face, her eyes wide with shock and fury. Lola, clearly in a rage, threw a punch toward Jungkook, but he moved swiftly, dodging her attack with ease.
The sight of her bloody nose snapped everything into focus. Jungkook had stepped in just in time and had broken her nose in the process. The scene was chaotic, with Shirin shouting in the background, Lola staggering with blood dripping from her face, and Jungkook holding me protectively. My mind was racing, trying to process everything, but one thing was clear—Jungkook had come to my rescue when I needed him most.
Shirin hurried over to support Lola, who was still groaning in pain, her hands clasped tightly over her broken nose. Jungkook's grip on my shoulder was firm, his presence both reassuring and intimidating as he towered over them.
"Stay away from her," Jungkook's voice was cold and dangerous, each word dripping with fury. "The only reason I'm letting you walk away now is because she needs medical attention. But if you ever come near her again, I won't hesitate to break every bone in your bodies. And then, you'll live out the rest of your miserable lives unable to even move."
Shirin's eyes narrowed, and she shot him a look full of hate, but she didn't say a word. Lola, still reeling from the pain, could only grunt in anger as they began to back away, their retreating forms filled with resentment and defeat.
Jungkook turned to me, his expression softening as he bent down and carefully scooped me up into his arms. "Let's get you to the hospital," he said, his voice gentle now, but still laced with concern.
"No," I managed to whisper, my voice shaky from the pain. "Take me back to the apartment. The one where Jimin and I stayed."
Jungkook hesitated, his eyes searching mine for a moment. He could see the determination in my gaze, the silent plea that I didn't want to be taken to a hospital. With a slight nod, he relented. "Alright," he said softly. "I'll take you home."
He carried me to his car, and as he gently placed me in the passenger seat, I leaned back, my body still throbbing with pain. The familiar streets of the city blurred past us as Jungkook drove in silence, his knuckles white from gripping the steering wheel. My thoughts drifted back to the apartment, the place where everything began and where I needed to be now more than ever.
When we finally arrived, Jungkook helped me out of the car and into the building, his arm around my waist to support me. As we stepped inside the apartment, a wave of emotions hit me. The memories, both good and bad, came flooding back, and I could feel the tears welling up again.
