The house was quiet, save for the occasional hum of appliances and the distant sound of footsteps. Jimin and Airene were alone for the evening, and despite the calm atmosphere, an unspoken tension hung between them. Airene, determined to bridge the gap between them, tried to engage him in conversation.
"Jimin, how about we catch up on things? Maybe talk over some coffee?" she offered gently, her voice filled with hopeful optimism.
Jimin, however, was cold and distant. "I don't need coffee," he replied curtly, his eyes not meeting hers. "I have work to do."
He retreated to his workroom, his demeanor icy and unwelcoming. Airene, undeterred by his harsh tone, followed him, carrying a tray with coffee and a few snacks.
"Are you sure you don't want anything?" she asked, her voice tinged with concern as she knocked softly on the door.
There was no response from inside. She hesitated, then tried the handle, only to find it locked. She knocked again, a little louder this time.
"Jimin, please, just a quick chat? I brought some snacks too."
Still no answer. Airene's heart sank, but she remained persistent.
"How about some books? I know you've been working hard. Maybe you need a break?"
The door creaked open slightly, just enough for Jimin to push her away with a firm hand. "Enough, Airene. Just stop."
The door was shut with a definitive thud, leaving Airene standing outside, her heart heavy with disappointment. She took a deep breath, trying to hold back the tears. Recognizing that her efforts were futile for the moment, she walked away, her shoulders slumped.
With a resigned sigh, she headed to the kitchen and began preparing dinner. Time passed slowly as she focused on cooking, her mind preoccupied with thoughts of Jimin and their fractured relationship. The clock ticked on, and as the hours slipped by, she could hear the distant sounds of Jimin's movements around the house.
It was now 6 PM, and Jimin emerged from his workroom, his demeanor unchanged. His routine was a stark reminder of the past few weeks. Without acknowledging Airene, he quickly changed into his casual outfit, signaling it was time for his evening escape.
Airene hesitated for a moment before entering Jimin's bedroom. The sight before her caught her off guard—Jimin, shirtless, his muscular body tense as he moved about the room. She blinked in surprise, her breath catching slightly. She had never seen him like this before, and the sight stirred something inside her. Jimin, sensing her presence, turned around sharply. "What are you doing in here?" he barked, his voice cutting through the moment, jolting her back to reality.
Airene blinked and quickly steadied herself. "Where are you going?" she asked, her voice firm, standing her ground despite his obvious frustration. He didn't answer. Instead, Jimin walked over to his wardrobe, pulling out a black shirt and white jogger pants. Without hesitation, he began changing right in front of her, thinking she would shy away and leave him alone. But Airene didn't move, not even flinching as he slipped the shirt over his head. He shot her an annoyed look, expecting her to leave. But when she stayed, rooted in place, something inside him simmered with both frustration and confusion.
As he was about to head out the door, Airene stepped forward quickly, her hand grabbing his arm and pulling him back in with unexpected strength. "You're not going anywhere," she said with a resolve that surprised even herself. Jimin glared at her, his eyes narrowing. "Let go, Airene."But she didn't budge. Instead, with swift determination, she locked the bedroom door, trapping him inside. Before Jimin could react, she slipped out, leaving him pounding on the door in a fury."Airene! Open this door! What the hell do you think you're doing?" Jimin's voice roared through the room, and he began slamming his fists against the door, making it shake under the force of his blows.
