Nicola had started coming along to mine and Kimberley's tutoring lessons. I don't know why, but it annoyed me. It was good that Nicola and Kimberley were becoming friends, but I liked being selfish and keeping Kimberley to myself and when Nicola was there, I couldn't get all of her attention.
We were sitting in the library I was sitting as close to Kimberley as I could and Nicola was sitting across the table from us. It was the first time we had been in here since that incident with Kyle two weeks ago. Kimberley seemed to have forgotten about it though as she acted like nothing had ever happened.
I sat staring at her as she explained something to Nicola, she was so patient with her, just like she was with me. I was so mesmerised by her that I didn't even hear her when she called my name.
“Oi Chezza!” She pushed me gently, but because I wasn't paying any attention, I nearly fell of my seat. Luckily, I grabbed onto the table and was able to regain my balance just in time.
“Be careful Kimba! I could've fallen!” I hit her back playfully.
“Oh, it's not like you would have died or anything.”
“That's because I'm a ninja and I used my ninja powers to save myself.”
“Ninja powers?” She raised her eyebrows.
“Yes, I'm Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Tweedy.” I pretended to do some kind of karate chop. “Are you jealous?”
“Oh yes, of course you are.” She replied sarcastically. “And I'm The Yellow Power Puff Girl Kimba.”
“There's not even one of those!” I frowned.
“There's no Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Tweedy either!”
Knowing that I wasn't going to win this argument, I crossed my arms over my chest and glared at her. She knew I was joking so she just kept winding me up, making Nicola laugh.
“What are you laughing at, Nic?”
“Nothing, I just think it's cute the way you two get along.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, it's hard to explain I suppose.. the two of you just really get each other. Like, you can sit and insult each other and not take offence. Plus, your arguments are the funniest things I've heard in a long time. Seriously, it's like Kimberley moving here has been the best thing that's happened to you Cheryl.”
“That's probably because it is the best thing.” I glanced at my phone, I had late dance practice in five minutes. “I need to go now. I'll see you two later.” After giving them a hug I ran to the studio.
Nicola's Point of View
“Hey Nic, where have you been?” Nadine asked when I returned to our dormitory, collapsing onto my bed as soon as I reached it.
“I've been in the library with Kimberley and Cheryl. Kimberley's a good tutor you know.”
“Oh, don't tell me she's getting to you too!” Sarah groaned as she looked up from her phone.
“What are you going on about?” I asked in confusion, I had no idea what the pair of them were going on about.
“Haven't you noticed? That new girl is changing Cheryl!” She explained as Nadine nodded her head in agreement.
“So? Maybe change is what Cheryl needs. I mean, she was threatened to be kicked out of the school Kimberley is probably good for her.”
“Yeah, but she's losing her reputation because she's turning nice and that's damaging ours too! Haven't you seen a change in her?”
“Well yeah I have. When we were in the library, Kimberley pushed her and Cheryl did nothing about it.”
“Exactly! If any of us had done that to her, she would have turned into the Hulk and smashed us to pieces!”
“That's a bit extreme Sarah.” I giggled at her exaggeration. “Maybe you should get to know Kimberley first before you judge her. She really isn't that bad.”
“But she's all posh isn't she? I don't think we'd get along...”
“I agree.” Nadine butted it. “I mean, the only thing we have in common with her is that our dad's have money. I'm not going to be friends with her just because of that.”
“Whatever.” I sighed, rolling my eyes at them. “The point is that Kimberley is actually nice so don't go judging her until you get to know her.”
Cheryl's Point of View
Dance didn't finish until half past nine, and when it did, I got back to my room as quickly as I could. I was exhausted! Kimberley was in the shower when I returned, so I just lay on my bed and waited for her to come out.
“Oh, hey I didn't know you were back.” She greeted as she walked out the bathroom with just a towel on. “I left my clothes out here because I didn't think you'd be back. Sorry.” If she was embarrassed, she showed no signs of it.
“It's fine, don't worry about it.” I forced myself to look away from her. I was turning into pervy Cheryl and I didn't know why! If she caught me starting, she'd think I was some creep!
“So how was your dance practice?” She asked as she walked back into the bathroom to get changed.
“Aye, it was good. I'm so tired now though!”
“Here's an idea, go to sleep.”
“Oh look at Miss Einstein telling me what to do!” I rolled my eyes at her as she walked back out of the bathroom now wearing her pyjamas. “I was going to, but you were in the bathroom and I needed in.”
“That's right, blame me!”
I grabbed my pyjamas that were lying messily on my bed from this morning and went to the bathroom and got changed. I brushed my teeth quickly and then went to join Kimberley back in our room.
“Are you even tired?” I asked Kimberley when I noticed she was already in her bed. We usually didn't go to sleep for another hour or so, but I was too tired to stay up.
“No, but if you're going to sleep I may as well too because I've got nothing better to do.”
“Talk to me?”
“What do you mean, Chezza?”
“Talk to me whilst I'm trying to go to sleep.”
“Why? Surely you'd want me to be quiet if you're trying to get to sleep?”
“Yeah, but I like your voice. It relaxes me.”
“Are you trying to say my voice makes you fall asleep?”
“Something like that.” A small smirk appeared on my face. “Now talk to me.”
