RIGHT WHERE YOU LEFT ME
ANGELA GIARRATANA

CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE
"YOU MUST BE REALLY AWESOME"

°°°

KENNEDY wiped the lip gloss off from below angela's lip. "sorry about that." she chucked as they walked into the bar.

angela smiled, leading kennedy to a table by hand. "it's not a problem."

"oh, good to know." kennedy said, a quick kiss pressed to angela's lips before she spoke.

"go sit down, i'll get us drinks." angela said, swatting her arm.

kennedy laughed and took a seat at the small table in the back that angela chose. the bar was buzzing on this saturday night, with low lights and music creating a lively atmosphere.

kennedy fiddled with the thin chain with a heart charm hanging from her neck. she couldn't believe she was here, waiting for angela to come back, after all the years of believing she was the one that got away.

a smile grew on her face once she saw angela make her way through the small sea of people. watching as she twisted and turned through people chatting, a polite smile on her face as she said excuse me.

kennedy couldn't help but stare at her girlfriend. her hair was untouched, hanging down just above her shoulders. her tight tank top showed off her arms, her biceps flexing with every swerve out of the way as her jean jacket hung from her waist.

"i'm back." angela smiled, sitting across from the blonde. she had two identical drinks in her hands, placing one in front of kennedy.

"thanks." kennedy smiled, taking a sip from the small straw poking out of the square glass.

"i've missed you." angela said, stirring the ice around her drink.

"you've seen me everyday this month." kennedy chuckled.

angela laughed. "i know, but work has been a lot lately and i've missed you."

"that's very sweet, angela." kennedy smiled, grabbing one of her hands from across the table. "i've missed you too."

"hey, so i've had something i've been meaning to ask you." angela remembered after taking a sip from her drink.

"oh yeah?" kennedy raised an eyebrow.

"my parents invited you to sunday dinner next week." angela said. "you wanna go?"

"i would love too." kennedy smiled. "i miss your family."

angela chuckled lightly as she nodded. "they miss you too. you're their favorite partner i've ever had."

"even after i left?" kennedy laughed.

angela shrugged. "you must be really awesome."

"must be." kennedy smiled.

angela smiled back and took another sip from her glass. as kennedy and angela's hands moved around together, large smiles on both their faces, somebody walked up to the table.
