"saylor wake up," i heard as i slowly opened my eyes. "wake up baby."

i opened my eyes and all i could see were people hovering over me, including my parents.

"alright give the girl some space," coach told everyone.

"are you okay?" harley asked me. "you passed out right after your performance."

"which is why i ordered for you to not perform and you did it anyway," the doctor said.

"okay wait don't fuss at her right now," billie defended me.

"she could've caused more internal damage," the doctor stated.

"okay sorry sorry but i have no regrets," i shrugged as i sat up. "i gave it my all and that's that."

"well next time can you not scare us to death," coach lightly hit my shoulder. "again!"

"it's what i do best," i joked.

"well ms. monroe," the doctor started. "i have to run some more tests before i release you again."

"i figured," i sighed.

the doctor took me to another room and ran tests on me while my loved ones went back to the stands.

everything came out okay, i just have a severe concussion and need to take shit easy. oh, and my body is very very drained and exhausted.

and so am i.

-

it was finally time to announce scores and i couldn't be more terrified.

we were all out there, shaking in our boots as we waited for them to announce the winners of each category. and when it was time for my division, i felt like i was going to throw up.

"ladies and gentlemen," the announcer began. "we now have the final results for the women's division in figure skating."

i began tapping my foot quickly, my anxiety shooting through the roof.

"in third place, and the winner of the bronze medal, with a total score of 255.12, representing sweden, maria nilsonn! well done!"

the crowd cheered and she went and took her place up front, waiting for the rest of the scores.

"in second place, and the winner of the silver medal, with a total score of 271.89, representing france, colette aubert! well done!"

the girl went and stood on the podium as well, being awarded her medal

"oh my god, oh my god, oh my god," i mumbled to myself, my heart now pounding out of control.

"and in first place, the gold medalist and olympic champion, with a record breaking score of 310.76," he started.

"no fucking way," i mumbled.

everyone in the crowd gasped, and every team stood on the sidelines shocked as ever, waiting to see who could have possibly broken the world record.

"representing the usa, saylor monroe! congratulations on your incredible performance!"

my eyes shot wide. there was no way, i couldn't believe it. i was in such a state of shock that coach had to slightly push me to go up to the podium.

i went up there and was rewarded my gold medal. tears formed in my eyes immediately as i smiled from ear to ear.

"congratulations to all of our medalists! let's give them another round of applause for their outstanding performances in today's competition!"
