Chapter 44

A pair of eyes were sleeping soundly, but due to a sudden sense of uneasiness, they opened their shutter lid, making the eyeballs adjust to the darkness of the room.

Alisha was covered in sweat; she ran her fingertips over her forehead and wiped them off. She searched for some water on the side table but found the jar to be empty. She sighed and tried to get out of the grip of Ace, whose hands were encircled around her waist like she gonna run away at midnight.

Alisha tried her best to get his hands off her but as soon as she removed his bulky hand successfully, it again got wrapped around her, and this time more tightly, pulling her more closer to his chest.

Alisha sensed something was wrong, so she tried to lift her head to watch him, but before she could lift her head high enough, she got pulled downwards, making her side face slap hard against his bare chest.

Alisha let out an ouch sound from her mouth, and suddenly she could feel a vibrating tsunami under her. She lifted her head while her chin was digging a pit in his chest.

She looked at him to find him laughing while controlling not to make any sounds. Alisha felt irritated and, at the same time, felt good seeing him laughing wholeheartedly.

"Have some shame, Mr. King"

"After having some shame, can I have you, Mrs. King?" Ace replied with a wink. After that, he asked her where she was going to which she replied.

"I'm thirsty"

"For me? I know I look devouring in the night but have some shame." Ace joked.

"I meant to say I need water,", She said frustratedly as she was about to step her leg on the floor. But before that, he pulled her back and said he'd grab it for her. But she insisted saying.

"No, no, need, I'll go get it," Alisha said as she unlocked his hands from her waist and stepped on the floor before grabbing the jar. But as soon she touched the floor, her leg went out of contact with the ground.

It was later that she realised that her body was completely balancing itself on his right shoulder while he was walking downstairs towards the kitchen.

He made her sit over the platform, and he stood in between her leg partition, which made her feel a little uncomfortable. She tried to close her legs, but his big hips were an obstacle.

"Can you move?" She said to which he replied I'm filling water. After all, Alisha knows he is doing it on purpose, so he doesn't say anything else.

Meanwhile, Ace, sensing something unusual in her behaviour, moved away from her, which let her close her legs, thinking she might not like this kind of touch.

After Alisha soaked her dry throat with some cold water, and felt some relief. She still felt the same uneasiness that she did when she woke up.

Both of them were about to climb up the stairs, but suddenly, she thought to check on everyone before going back to sleep for some self-satisfaction for everyone's safety. When I asked her when she stopped mid-stairs, she told him that she'd be back after checking. Ace headed toward the room while Alisha checked Dadi's room, where she found her asleep already.

She was about to walk towards Moni's room, but even before she reached her door, she could sense something wrong as she could see the lights of her room through the space between the floor and the door.

She immediately opened the door to find the bed empty; her eyes traced across the room only to find her covering herself with her upper clothes in her hands, with shock clearly visible on her face.

Alisha tried to get closer to her to get to know the reason behind her State, but Moni, embarrassed of showing her marks to her sis, hid her face and started crying silently.
