FAYE
I woke up in my bed with a severe hangover, my head pounding relentlessly. I sat up, massaging my temples in attempt to alleviate the pain. Wanwan entered the room, holding a glass of water, which she placed on the bedside table.
"Next time, if you can't handle too much alcohol, huwag ka ng uminom nang marami. Ang bigat-bigat mo eh," panenermon n'ya sa akin. I sighed deeply, the memory of my dream about her still vivid in my mind.
"Thank you, Wan."
I checked if there were any important messages.
"It's already 9:23, you better start getting ready," Wanwan reminded me before leaving the room.
I dragged myself out of bed.
As I hurried through my morning routine, Wanwan popped her head back in. "Kailangan mo bang ihatid kita sa meeting mo later? Mukha kang zombie," she teased. Tinaasan ko naman s'ya ng kilay. "No need."
I headed to the bathroom. After a quick shower, I got dressed in my sharp suit and hurried downstairs. Wanwan had already prepared a light breakfast for me.
"Eat something, kahit konti lang," she urged. I nodded and took a few bites of toast before grabbing my bag and keys.
"Thanks, Wan. I'll see you later," I said, giving her a quick hug before rushing out the door, hoping the cool morning air would clear my head.
The city was bustling as usual, people going about their day.
As the CEO, I had a packed schedule. I arrived at the office just before 10 AM. I checked my email and replied to a few urgent messages. As I glanced at the clock, I realized I only had a few minutes before heading to the conference room.
"Faye, the board is waiting for you," my assistant reminded me as she passed by.
"Thanks, I'll head there now," sagot ko at kinuha ang mga papers na kailangan. As I made my way to the boardroom, I couldn't help but think about the night I met Yoko, the intensity of our connection, and the bittersweet goodbye. "Focus, Faye," I muttered to myself.
"Good morning, everyone," I greeted as I entered the boardroom. The members of the board looked up, and I could feel their anticipation. "Let's get started."
We delved into the key points and strategies for our upcoming projects. I made sure to address all concerns and outline our vision clearly.
After a productive discussion, I felt confident and prepared for the next phase. "Alright, let's move on to the next item on the agenda," I said, guiding the meeting forward. My focus was sharp, my decisions are decisive. As the meeting progressed, I stayed focused on the meeting at hand, despite the lingering thoughts from last night's dream.
The meeting wrapped up just before noon. As I walked out of the boardroom, I tried to shake off the thoughts of last night. Despite the smooth flow of the meeting and the positive feedback from the board, my mind kept drifting back to Yoko.
What have you done to me?
I returned to my office, but the focus was elusive. I glanced at my calendar and noticed a bunch of tasks lined up for the day, but they all felt insignificant compared to the memory of her.
"It's been freaking three months, Faye," I muttered to myself, frustratedly.
"Faye, are you alright?" "Yes, just a bit distracted," I replied, forcing a smile.
"Ilang weeks or months ka nang ganyan, Faye," nag-aalalang saad ni Wanwan. "I'm fine, really." She crossed her arms and looked straight into my eyes.
"Is this about the girl?"
Well, tama naman.
"Bakit kasi hindi mo sabihin sa'kin kung sino s'ya? At anong mayroon sa kanya at nagkakaganyan ka?" Tanong nito, halata sa boses n'ya ang pang-aasar. Napabuntong-hininga ako at hindi s'ya sinagot. Sakto naman na nagring ang telepono, I told her to be quiet at sinagot ito.
"Hello, this is Ms. Malisorn, CEO of Amor Style Studio. How can I help you today?" Sagot ko rito. About daw ito sa naging meeting kanina, tinakpan ko muna ang telepono and signaled Wanwan to give me a few minutes alone.
After a productive discussion, the other line ended the call. I sank into my chair, staring out of the window. The city below was buzzing with activity, but all I could see was Yoko's unforgettable face.
I replayed our last moments together, the intensity of our connection, and the bittersweet realization that we only had one day.
Kung wala lang sana s'ya sa isang komplikadong sitwasyon, things could have been different. The office was quiet now, a stark contrast to the whirlwind of emotions I was feeling. I closed my eyes, trying to push the thoughts away and regain my focus. But Yoko's image persisted, a reminder of a fleeting connection that had left an impact on me.
After some time, I took a deep breath and stood up, trying to shake off the lingering thoughts. "Alright, Faye," I said to myself, "focus on the present. You have work to do."
I decided to take a break and get some fresh air.
As I walked through the elevator and stepped outside, the cool breeze from the rooftop helped me clear my mind. I made a mental note to stop thinking about her, but I knew that Yoko would still remain a part of my thoughts for some time.
