Seth
My mom made me come. I especially didn't want to after my last message to Caleb wasn't read.
(Seth: I miss you so fucking much.)
The ceremony ends and I decide to approach Darius and Max.
"Hi," I say.
"Hi," Max says.
"How are you?" Darius asks.
"I've been better. I miss you guys," I say.
"You distanced yourself from us, not the other way around. You broke us. You have some nerve talking to us," Max says.
Then he walks away.
"He doesn't mean it. He misses you too. We all do. But he's not handling it well," Darius says.
"And Caleb?" I ask.
"He's- well, he doesn't sleep much, he doesn't eat much. He gets drunk a lot. Max has to take away his pain most nights just so he sleeps. It's- we're not doing well," Darius says.
"I'm sorry," I say.
"I'm not blaming you. It's just the way things are now," he says.
"But it's my fault," I whimper.
Max comes back over to us.
"Come here," he says.
I know what he's going to do and I shake my head.
"Seth, let me," Max says.
"I deserve this pain," I say.
"Seth, you're still one of us," Darius says.
I shake my head and walk away. I walk into the hall. I slump against the wall and let the tears fall.
"Sweetheart?"
It's Gwen's and Roxy's mom. She sits next to me.
"What's wrong?" she asks.
I shake my head.
"Do you want me to get your mom?" she asks.
I want to say no but I need her so I nod. She leaves and returns with my mom.
"Seth? What's wrong?" she asks, casting a silencing bubble over us, Merissa returning to the party.
"I messed up," I sob.
"What happened?" she asks.
"I made a mistake that ruined everything, made me lose my best friends," I say.
"I want to go home. I don't want to be here," I sob.
"Alright, I'll take you home," she says.
"You will?" I ask.
"Yes. I wish you had told me. I wouldn't have made you come if I had known," she says.
She throws stardust over us and we land in the kitchen.
"Try and rest. Call if you need anything," she says.
She leaves and I head to my room. I wake to my Altas ringing. It's Darius.
"Seth, thank the stars. You need to get to Uranus Infirmary. Now."
"What happened?" I ask.
"It's Caleb. he's hurt, bad," he says.
My heart sinks.
"What? How?" I ask.
