It was my first shift in this weird doorman position, as my dad was taking a day off from this job. He has claimed that the duties were to protect to the neighbors from 'Dopplegangers'.
It sounded like a maniac wrote his job description, but the town did have an organization called the Doppleganger Detection Department, or DDD. And right when I sat down in the squeaky office looking chair, the job had started.
The door covers opened upwards an there in the yellow hazmat suit was a DDD member, "Welcome to the job" the person's voice was muffled, "Uhm, thanks?" You reply.
"As you know, our original doorsman is taking the dayoff, and you've been selected to take his position for the time being" visible breathes were heard in-between the muffles, an quicky explained what I had to do before heading off.
"Alright, so I have to check a list.." I look about for the list, finding it taped to the wall. I examine it, 'Angus', 'Alf', 'Dr.W', 'Robertsky', and 'Francis'
"Huh, I guess this is were my other father lives" you mutter to yourself as you hear footsteps moving towards the door, it was your second father..Francis Mosses.
But he didn't seem right, everything except his nose seemed correct. "Mmm, hello" the odd thing spoke, it was clear this was one of those dopplegangers my first father, the doorsman and the DDD warmed me about.
I decided to play with it a bit, "Do you recognize me at all?" The thing pretending to be my second father seemed confused, "Mm, of course. Your the doorsman" he seemed happy with his answer, "Well, if you were the real Francis you would know I was your daughter" the Dopple froze.
Its eyes turn faint red an wide, I remember the DDD saying they did this when they were caught red handed, but it seemed more surprised then caught off guard.
