The time that the ref brought his arms down I immediately raised my shield, as Anatoly's spell hit violently in my shield, I then started to run around, waiting for him to cast more and more spells, raising a shield just strong enough to last one strong spell, you know, to give him a false sense of security, after that... I don't really know what to do.
-Oh this is even easier than I thought!- Anatoly said, laughing out loud. -You'll just run around in circles while I hit you, okay for me!-
I didn't reply to him, partially because I didn't think of something to say and partially because I was trying to think of a way to counterattack him, but what could work against someone way better than me? I had already been warned about using the Yamato, so that was out of question, spells that could and would put the crowd in risk were also banned now, and to add insult to injury, whatever that got me hyped up for the fight had gone away, maybe I was going crazy.
-You're a little rat aren't you?- Anatoly said again. -As fun as hitting a moving duck is, this is a fight, hit me!-
Yeah, like I'm that stupid to fall for such a lie, Anatoly then focused on a spell that seemed bad, because he cared enough to actually chant it, I strengthened my shield a bit more just to be sure.
-I call upon you to take away the lives of the fools that dare stay in our way!- Anatoly chanted. -11th Plague: Death of the Firstborns!-
A Dark Crimson jet of light hit my Shield, immediately shattering it with a long and echoing cry, and sending me into the wall, where I hit my head particularly hard, I wasn't dead, obviously, but I had made a barrier too weak to withstand the power of the spell, meaning: I underestimated Anatoly.
-Penalty: Anatoly Skarkov.- The Ref said. -Using forbidden magic.-
Despite the Penalty, Anatoly kept his points because that makes sense apparently. I got up gingerly and put my hand on the back of my head, and when I looked at it I kinda got dizzy with the blood in my hands, then I got mad, as you do when someone beats you up very badly.
-Fire!- I shouted, sending a bright white ball of fire into Anatoly, who just raised a Crimson barrier. -Fire!-
I kept throwing the fireballs into his barrier, which stood firmly against a weak spell, I then looked at my hand again, and yep, the blood was still there.
-Good, you're finally attacking.- Anatoly said, smiling. -Come on Barry, give me your worst, I will take it personally, but just after the Coliseum! Hit me!-
I thought of obeying Anatoly, but I disliked him so much that I instead did the exact opposite, running away from him, with a lot of courage obviously.
-Right where I wanted you to be.- Anatoly said. -Small Glimpse of Destruction, Symbol of Fire, Chaos Sign: Fireball!-
A Light Orange ball then came towards me, and the only thing I could do was raise another barrier, but being dizzy and hurt, again it was just too weak and I was thrown at the wall again.
-Fire!- I shouted again, and of course it didn't make any changes, but this time it was on purpose. -Crimson, which magic is Crimson again?-
While I struggled to remember my classes Anatoly then started to play, casting several painful but slightly weak spells just to see how much I could take, I bravely ran away again from him.
-C'mon Barry, i'm just getting started.- Anatoly said. -Hate Sign: Ostracization!-
Of course, Crimson Magic, Hate Magic! And the Opposite of Hate is Love! I knew what to do now!
-No more running.- Someone told me very loudly. -It's time to attack!-
Not now, I had to endure his attack, so I raised the strongest Barrier I could think of, as impenetrable as the Walls of the School itself, and just like that a bright light materialized in front of me, it was the Barrier taking the spell without much effort.
