In Kings Landing, Alicent stands in her quarters, having dismissed her maids again, staring at her bath, she picks at her fingers before walking back out and speaking to Criston, asking if he had told anyone, he responds quickly in a low tone,

"What do you take me for?"

Alicent responds her anxiety eating at her throat,

"One who seeks absolution."

Cole answers quickly,

"There is none for what I've done."

After Criston Cole goes to the dining hall for the knights, Ser Arryk sat eating after a long day, his cape dirty and muddy, Cole points towards his cook and snaps asking why it wasn't clean

"It's a reminder of yesterday, I think. The procession was muddy. I'll replace it hence."

Cole asks him to do it now. Taking out his own indiscretions on the knight. Arryk protested hungry from the long day, Criston snaps,

"You defy my authority, Ser Arryk."

Arryk's brows furrowed as he protested against that idea, standing up to face Cole. Cole continued snapping at the man, his own shame being projected,

"The white cloak is a symbol of our purity... our fidelity. Kingsguard are a sacred trust. Will you so easily sully our ancient honor?"

The other knights exited as Cole threw the plates onto the floor, Arryk defends himself saying he'll remedy the mistake, Criston then asks, where he was when Jaehaerys was murdered, Arryk took offence to this answering quickly that he was guarding the King, Cole snaps,

"And you were not in the private quarters where you might have prevented the crime."

Arryk answered saying that Aegon wanted to entertain his guests in the throne room, Cole continued pressing Arryk getting fed up and snapping,

"Where were you, Lord Commander? And why has Helaena the queen been granted no sworn protector? Surely once she ascended, she—"

Coke reminded Arryk about his twin, the traitor to the throne, Arryk looked taken aback, ignoring the fact that Cole knew full well how much it pained him, Cole pressed again, Arryk refuting the idea and Cole continued blaming Arryk for his own misdeeds.

Arryk continued trying to stick up for himself, knowing that he had done nothing wrong. Cole states that he must restore the disgrace Arryk had brought into the ranks. Arryk asked how? Cole announced,
