Criston continues on his way to Rook's Rest, he had amassed quite an army in the short time. Cole screamed for them to start moving, but it was daylight so Gwayne disagreed, knowing that nightfall was the safest option. Cole presses and says they shall move now, Gwayne continues advocating for him to drop the nonsense. He brought up the encounter with Verena, her huge dragon, the green dragon and Baela. Cole says he did not forget but they would still advance.

Verena left her dragon after a long ride to clear her head, she didn't know what to do, she had lost her children, and did not know when she would see them again. Rhaenyra had just made it back from Kings Landing when Verena rushed close to her embracing her.

"Thank the gods, Nyra!! I'm so glad you are safe. Things have become more dire, we must strike the next blow. I take it Alicent did not apologise and surrender."

Nyra sighed speaking as they walked into the castle.

"Alicent ascended Aegon because my father spoke about the song of ice and fire on his death bed, the song Aegon the Conqueror dreamed. I agree that we must strike. It is time to win or die."

Verena was proud of Rhaenyra for her lack of blood thirst, Verena wished she could have that amount of patience. But her anger grows with the losses, especially with her babies so far away. She mourns them, even thought they are alive.

"We must fight for our family. I'm glad you now see what i see....

How is Alicent?"

Before Rhaenyra could answer, Verena quieted down and stepped back as Rhaenyra was announced and she walked into the council letting to Jace saying they must send a dragon. Rhaenyra shocked everyone as she questioned what Jace was doing. Jace snaps out of anger, he was so worried about her,

"To support the war that your vassals have been fighting in your absence..."

The council spend their time updating Rhaenyra about Cole's host, and how it had grown as he ransacks the route he is on. Jace snaps,

"Where have you been, these last days? You vanished without so much as a word."

Verena hated the fact that she had gone to Kings Landing, she understood why, but she still hated it. If anything had happened to her, she knew that would break her. Rhaenyra looks at Jace in surprise before speaking,

"Well, I apologize for my absence and the secrecy, but such was necessary. I went to King's Landing."

This makes Jace more angry, as he snapped asking her to what possible end was she trying to get too. Verena answered in Valyrian,
