the elevator - lizzy mcalpine

i thought we were endgame, we're not even the movie before

they all scream our names as if the world's crash is our fault

but what am i to do if humanity's fate is too huge of a force

earth loses people like the bird does its feathers

so why do they say that i should have known better?

death sure has a reason why it teaches us these lessons

was it as well deserved as they pretend?

even if we're meant to be the stars in heaven,

if enough for that is exactly what i can't see in myself,

how could knowing it ever matter?

if i look up to the sky and seek comfort

do they look down here and miss us?

tell me, pretty angel, why has it all come to an end?

tell me, why i did i lose you, even though i thought i can't?

wasn't it almost impossible, after all those years we spent together?

angel, why aren't you answering? have you already fallen to hell?

yes, maybe they're right, maybe i should have known better

but don't you dare say that your sacrifice didn't matter

you gave all good just for this sake and for that, you'll be remembered

you gave all good just for this sake and for that, you'll be remembered
