Once I'd dropped Olly off at school, I went past the store to get Travis some food easier to at when he was sick and some drinks to keep him hydrated. I was so glad I'd called him, since I knew he would have absolutely gone to work in his state.
When I got back to Travis' house, he still wasn't in bed. He was at the table where I'd left him, working on his computer. I sighed to myself, putting everything down on the bench and walking over to him. Travis looked up as I closed his computer, opening his mouth, but I held up a finger and stopped him.
"Do I have to drag you to bed?" I asked.
"Yeah." He winked at me and I laughed, shaking my head. "Oh come on sweet angel." Travis reached out and pulled me onto his lap, wrapping his arms around me. "If I'm going to bed, you're coming with me."
"You know, as sexy as that sounds..." I kissed his forehead. "You're sick, and the only reason I'll come to bed with you is to make sure you stay there."
Travis chuckled and kissed my shoulder, sighing to himself. I urged him up and took his hand, taking him down to his bedroom. He really didn't seem to want to rest but I pulled the blankets back and pushed him down gently, making sure he knew I wouldn't be taking no for an answer. After a moment, I got him into bed and tucked the blankets up before sitting next to him.
"Thank you." Travis said grudgingly as I took his hand. "I know I need to rest, and I'm glad I have someone like you to make sure I do, otherwise I wouldn't."
"I know." I leaned down and kissed his temple. "And I'm going to stay and make sure you continue to rest until you're better."
"What do you mean stay?" Travis blinked at me.
"Here." I whispered tentatively. "If that's okay. It'll just be easier for me to look after the kids and you at the same time." Travis opened his mouth, obviously about to protest, and I quickly spoke first. "Which I am going to do and you are going to let me if you ever want to get me naked in this bed." I countered, and he raised his eyebrows at me. "Deal?"
"Fine." Travis sighed. "But at least let me..."
"No." I said softly. "Travis you are going to do as I say until you're better. You're going to take three days off work right now, and you may need to take more. I'm going to make sure you eat, and then I'm going to go to my place and pack some things for me and Bella to stay here a few days. Then we're going to hang out for the afternoon, and I'll pick both of the kids up and make sure we have something for dinner. Then..." I stroked his forehead gently. "I'll drop them to school and daycare in the morning and we'll do it every day until you're better."
"Angel I love you." Travis whispered, gazing up at me. "If I wasn't sick right now I'd kiss the shit out of those lips." He touched my bottom lip, stroking it. I sighed.
"When you're better." I told him. "I'm not that keen on catching your cold." Travis nodded, a small smile on his lips. Then he coughed, covering his mouth. "Oh, honey." I crooned, rubbing his back at how awful the coughing sounded. It really sounded like he was hurting his throat. Travis looked up at me, a smile suddenly spreading back over his lips. "What?" I frowned.
"Honey?" He murmured, and I went red. "Angel, my sweet angel, you're so cute." Travis took my face in his hands, and I knew how hard he was trying not to kiss me. "That's so sweet. Did that just slip out?" I nodded, still blushing. "You have no idea how amazing that makes me feel Taylor, to hear you say that."
"Shut up." I mumbled, and he laughed before lapsing back into a coughing fit.
"Okay, okay." I rubbed his chest gently. "I'm going to get you some throat lozenges and some food."
