You've always been kind of a loser. Not to victimize yourself, you were well aware of that and you really much didn't care with time. After high school you just understood that you just had to be yourself, even if that person was chubby, had anger issues and was pretty much broke.

But even with being confident in yourself, you knew what was your place. That's why being naked in bed crushed by a pair of tanned arms was - yeah - odd. Moreover when it happened again, and again with a certain someone you knew was not of your social category. Starting a very passionate relationship - if you can call it that way - with Rafe Cameron, was to good to be true.

You were not from the island, you were born on mainland. So you had absolutely no idea why your dad was suddenly so stressed about the clients he was driving from the Outerbanks to the Bahamas. You understood when you saw them on board, dressed in so pricey clothes. They knew who they stood, what they were. That showed. A lot.

That was the first time you met Rafe. Just a client from your father boat cruising company. And lets say, those clients were out of place. Surprisingly, they didn't act like pricks. Rafe was - pretty nice if you could say.

Now that you were so deep into whatever was going on between the two of you, you were just scared. You lived at his, in Tanneyhill since he came back. You met his friends, that were - yeah - not much like you'd thought. You quickly understood that he didn't have much real friends, other than Barry if that counts. Downside of being rich, people are hypocrites. That's usually what Rafe used to explain when you doubted his words. When he told you you were everything to him. He says he stuck with you and no others cause you were real - his words -.

You quickly learnt that Rafe was maybe not as flawless as you had imagine. You imagined money brought happiness, but he was just a broke little boy to your eyes. He crumbled after a few weeks. You discovered how his brain works, which was very scary at first, but was now an open book to you. You understood how to transform danger and violence into estimation. You manage to change his perspective on things - well most of the time -.

You rapidly became used to staying at the police station all night with a hoodie for him to put on when he'll be out, cause he always gets out. You became used of his sister telling you to run away, of his "friends" warning you about his mood swings. It's like you got on board of a sinking boat but it didn't felt like any of that. There were definitely challenging events, but you never felt like that ever before. It's just the little flutters in your stomach when he looks at you and starts chuckling. The way he hugs you from behind. The way he opened up to you a little bit more each time. The way he whispered in your ear that he as feeling down during parties. Everything.

And you were so scared. So scared of losing all of that. Cause deep down, you will always feel like you don't deserve it.
