Chapter 4: Untold Secrets

     As the withwoods descended into their basement, the air was filled with a sense of tension of what secrets the mysterious figure(Santa claws) holds for them. Lilith's voice can be heard from the basement as a mom treats the cut on her arm. Mr.withwood clears his throat,his voice echoing in the silence of the basement. He said he needs to talk to them about happened, about Santa claws and what he did to Lilith. As he spoke Mrs.withwood wrapped her hands around Lilith,her eyes wide with fear. As she sat there listening as her sanity wasted away.
     Mr.withwood started explaining,his gaze flickering with weight of untold Secrets. He starts with himself, explaining how him and his family lived in a City in a small apartment building. He explains how his father was an abusive man who welded his power like a tyrant, infecting physical and emotional pain upon his family with every strike of his hand and every venomous word that spewed out of his mouth. Under the oppressive shadows of her father "Harley" Mr.withwood sister suffered unimaginable torment of Mental and physical abuse. Each blow was a hammer that shattered her fragile spirit, making her lack self esteem. Desperate for away to escape the chaos of her home,she sought solace in the company of those who lived on fringes of society,drawn to the dark allure of rebellion and defiance to rules,she started to take hard drugs to reduce the torment she was facing at home. The drugs offered a false sense of comfort,a fleeting illusion of freedoms from the demon(Her father) that haunting her every waking moment.Yet with each hit, each pill swallowed,she found herself losing her mind more with each passing day,making her to lose control of herself and grip on reality and not being able to control her desions in life.
     As Christmas approached the air crackled with an ominous energy,a harbinger of the horrors that awaited. In the dead of night,as the world filled with ignorance, Santa claws emerges from the depths of darkness. With a sinister grin,he set his sight on Harley who was smoking in a alley way with her gang members. But as he was about to strike, Her mother who was passing by saw the mysterious figure approaching Harley and quickly intervened. Mid-way through the story Lilith and her mom screamed like kids who had just seen a monster and pleaded for Mr.withwood to continue. As Santa claws Ascended his sharp knife like claw ready for the kill. With a cry of defiance, Harley's mother threw herself between her daughter and the looming specter of death, willing to sacrifice everything to protect her child. Santa claws struck without mercy,his claw tearing through the flesh and bones of Harley and her mother.The air filled with desperate cries of help as they lay on the floor and blood draining out of their bodies,the stench of blood filled the air and stained night. Lilith felt uneasy as her dad brought out a file and in it were news reports of kids going missing and some found dead,but the one that made her tear up was a news paper that read"Mother and Daughter found dead on the streets" and on-it were pictures of her grandma and aunt lying down dead with there pale faces, Lilith hugged her dad tight comforting him for what he had being through,her dad looked her saying "but the story doesn't end there". Driven by anger and sadness of loosing his mom,Mr.withwood investigated different cases like the one that had happened to his mom. He managed to add up all the clue and eyewitness account to discover that it's was all caused by a creature which he later found out in an ancient book that the name of the creature was Santa claws:A creature driven by justice and punishing naughty kids. The creature likes takes children in the night to torment them and bring them back after Christmas and those who have been punished but fail to change are killed and their soul will then suffer eternally in the hands of krampus, the book also read anyone tries to stop him while he executing his plan shall pay the ultimate price with their life.
     Mr.withwood managed to break free from the surfacing grasp of his father's tyranny and trying to forget the haunting memories of the night his mother's and sister's death left his home in search of a new begining. Mrs.withwood's breath caught in her throat as her spoke,tears rolling down her pale cheeks.she asked how Mr.withwoods could hide such a huge secret from her and he answered saying "he never wanted to remember such a gruesome night". Mr.Withwood swears to protect his family and avenge his mother and sister,saying that he realized that his youngest daughter Cleo wasn't in the basement with them,he quickly ran up the stairs looking for her in panic. He finds her watching TV in the living room, suddenly the news flashes across the screen,on it were pictures of the mayor of Evergreen, his body brutal mutilated. Mr.withwood, quickly closed Cleo's eyes. In the moment of silence,Mrs.Withwood and Lilith rushed into the room,their faces showed shocked and disbelief. Their horrified gasps echoed through the silence of the room as they beheld the grisly scene before them. The news reporter announced that the mayor was discovered deceased in his mansion at 5.A.M this morning. His son decapitated body was found in his room , The scene looked like a wild animal had attacked them. With a grave expression,Mr.Withwood shoke his head saying this was none other than Santa claws. Meanwhile the news reporter informs viewers that they are investigating the cause of the mayor and his son's death, intensify the gravity of the situation.

In the basement, secrets cling,
Withwood's past,a sorrowful thing.
Santa claws strikes, leaving pain untold,
News breaks, Mysterious unfold.
