- CHAPTER 4 -

NOTHING NORMAL

A week later, on a day of heavy rain, two police vans stops in front of the building and a group of four police-guards heads inside. A while later, the whole ground floor turns into a noisy and shocking atmosphere, when the police-guards return to their vans after hand-cuffing Gautam and taking him with them. Gautam, a normal young boy of fifteen, gets into the van all terrified and scared. His mother runs to the van in all tears and begging the police to release him being innocent. The police as instructed, leaves the building with Gautam and leaving his family and the neighbourhood in a big shock.

A few hours later, Vaani, arrives back home with her family and by the time they reach their house-door, the news travelled to their ears and they get to the knowledge that Gautam has been arrested in the case of a murder.

Being in all shock, Vaani was unable to sleep that night. The rain still falling outside, making the vibe more cold and horrifying, lying in bed with knowing the fact of someone known of the same age and being in a prison cell, it was clear not being possible to fall asleep.

The week passes and then months, the police kept on making visits on the ground floor and then after eight long months, the building turned back into its normal picture.

Gautam's family on the other hand, had left with nothing normal. His parents were still fighting for him in the court and the life of little Sonakshi, sadly turned into a confusing phase. Gautam and her, used to play all the time, she was his little darling, and being almost thirteen year older to her, he felt responsible towards her. He loved her with all beyond the limits. And for Sonakshi, Gautam bhaiya was everything. But now things changed out of the blue. He was not there anymore with her. Their parents never took her with them whenever they went to visit Gautam in prison. Everything just disappeared from Sonakshi's life in a single second. There was a fighting hope in the family but it was becoming weaker with the time.
