A LITTLE MORE WAIT

The next morning, Vaani open her eyes and realises where she is. She sits up on the couch, when Tushar starts speaking to her.

"Good morning."

"Morning.." – Vaani replies still a bit in sleep.

"You slept well?"

"Yeah, thank you. And sorry, I didn't realise.."

"ah! It's all cool." – Tushar tries his bit to make her comfortable. Heading to kitchen he asks – "You'd like some coffee? "

Vaani doesn't say anything and Tushar quietly keeps on making the coffee. Then he comes up with two mugs and handing over one to Vaani, he sits on the other couch, in front of her.

Sitting he asks - "Here. Have it, you'll feel good."

Vaani sitting with the very first thought since she's woken up, expresses it aloud – "Aa.. Tushar.. Can I.. Can I just talk to Gautam once? I really need to know, if he's okay. He's safe!? If you could just.."

"Yeah, sure. Lemme call my friend."

"Thank you."

Vaani takes a sigh of relief and Tushar brings out his phone and dials his friend. The call gets picked up.

"Hey Akshay! It's me, Tushar. How's it going?"

Akshay from the other side responds – "all cool man! You tell what's up?"

"All good. How's Gautam? Everything in control?"

"Yeah man! Till now. Here, Talk to him."

He passes his phone to Gautam on the other side.

"Hello.."

Tushar answers to the new voice - "Hey Gautam, It's Tushar. I hope everything's good there, you're not having any kind of problem..!"

"Yeah, it's all good. Thanks man."

Vaani listening to the conversation being all restless, asks Tushar to give her the phone now.

Tushar noticing her condition speaks – "Aa, here.. Vaani wants to talk." He passes the phone.

"Hey, Gautam? It's me, Vaani!"

"Hi Vaani.." – Gautam now answers to his old friend.

"How are you Gautam? You're okay there?"

"I'm all fine here, Vaani. Thanks for everything. How are things there? How's.. How's Sona and my.. Family?"

"Everything is great Gautam. You take care of yourself. I'll visit you really soon and don't worry about anything, okay..!?"

"yeah."

"Okay.." – She sighs with a relief after having a few words with him. Feeling a little relieved she shares it with him as well. "Just a little more wait.. and everything will be alright."

Gautam gulping, replies – "yeah."

Tushar asks for the phone and Vaani quietly gives it to him.

Taking the phone from Vaani, Tushar speaks to the other side once again – "Gautam, we'll come visit you, okay. Till then you need to stay in cover and be safe. Things will be in control. I'll keep contacting Akshay for status and update. Just let him know if you need anything or if there's any problem or anything you want, okay..?"

"Yeah, Tushar. Thanks a lot guys! I'm lucky to have you all." – Gautam answer being all grateful at the very moment.

"We'll.. Meet soon, okay. Take care."
