- CHAPTER 12 -
A LITTLE CRIME
The plan was simple, as per Vaani and for Tushar too, when he started listening to it. A little bit of excitement and uncertainty - keeping the nature of the particular day in the mind - Tushar was able to picture himself in the plan execution and was listening to it very carefully with every detail. He was a little surprised too wondering how Vaani has come to plan all this but knowing the fact of Vaani's affection for Gautam, made him believe that this was nothing unexpected or surprising. Anyone would cross limits for a loved one. This day was all about it.
A few miles later, time came when the first stage of the plan has to get executed. There were two police vans and Gautam was in one of those two. In the beginning, Vaani and Tushar had to deal with both but at the time of letting Gautam escape, they could afford to deal with just the one of them, as they were 'police' vans.
Earlier, when the police vans were being followed, and even stopped at a petrol pump for a few minutes, Vaani and Tushar made sure to know, which van was riding, with Gautam inside it. Later, at the first stage of the plan execution, they just had to let the other van go ahead on the way and somehow block the way for the main one. And for that, Tushar had to do some work on the road with his driving skills and mess up a little with the traffic so that the van carrying Gautam comes behind the other police van.
Vaani, made sure a day earlier that the stage one goes smoothly and already had prepared the requirements and a little men-help too. At the stage one, as soon as the first police van crosses a certain point on the road, it was planned to place a chain of traffic cones to block the way and make another way on the left side of the road, so that it looks like some work in progress. And as soon as the second van enters that left way, with a few other traffic too maybe, the main road was supposed to get open again by removing the traffic cones and avoiding the traffic in the left way for stage two.
In stage two of the plan, as the main police van gets captured, somehow by blocking the left way now with similar traffic cones in front, the men-help had to do his job. The police would ask the man on duty for passing the way, and the men-help will get engage talking to the police to buy some time and clearing the 'misunderstanding' and the way too, later. In that while, the van remains still, and a few nails were supposed to spread on the road quickly, without anyone noticing, to let the tiers get punctured and Vaani and Tushar gets a nice time to execute the big task of letting Gautam escape, later in the way. Spreading the nails and making sure the tiers do get engaged with them and then letting the police van hit the main road again, was the last step of the second stage.
In the third-uncertain stage, it was all about 'luck'. If Gautam was lucky, he would get an escape. If Vaani was lucky, Gautam would get an escape. If both were lucky, Gautam still gets the escape. But it was the stage of uncertainty and to see, 'who' actually was 'lucky'.
For the third stage, Vaani and Tushar, now just had to keep following the main police van and making sure it does not meet its partner and does get punctured in time. Then, as the moment demands, the van would need a mechanic or some help, which was intended to buy the time. And, helpfully, which would ask 'all' the passengers to get out of the vehicle. And after that, it was all about how swiftly and smoothly, someone can commit a little crime of 'kidnapping'.
