THE STEPS

After half an hour of chase, Vaani's driver slows down the car, making her confused and then he finally parks it aside of the road and switches off the car engine.

"What! What's wrong?" – Vaani gets confused.

The man doesn't say anything and gets out of the car.

"What are you doing!? We'll lose them again! Get in the car, right now!"

The man standing at a distance now, keeps listening while lighting a cigarette.

"What the hell is going on!? (She gets out of the car.) Are you out of your mind or what!? We need to keep following them, what you think you're doing having this cigarette at this moment!!"

"Having the cigarette." - The man replies.

"Wha.. UGH!!! Can we just get into the car and head back to the road and follow Gautam!?"

The man starts his questionnaire a bit early.

"And what exactly are we gonna do after getting into the car and following him. Are we gonna follow him till Delhi!! Can you please tell what are your 'plans'!? I don't think I can keep driving for 6-7 hrs following a car without knowing th..."

"All right! All right! We'll be following them for a bit and then after finding a nice place, we'll be blocking their way and help Gautam escape."

The man widening his eyes out says the word - "WHAT!!! And how you're gonna block their way!? And... and did you really think you'll be helping him escape and no one will catch you!"

"I don't know! I don't know, okay! If anyone catches us! I just know that I HAVE to help him... And... and please don't think that I haven't planned 'anything'. I have done some-work that's why I'm asking you to get into the car, so that, we get enough time to execute a few things. I'll explain every step but please--" requesting deeply she says – "--please, get in the car and catch that van--" – She gulps now. "--Please."

The man looking with a side gaze takes a few big bums of the cigarette and then crushes it off in the dirt with his feet. And walking to the car he says - "The moment you sit in this car, you need to start talking about 'the steps'! I hope you understand we cannot afford any mess, we have a little girl with us."

Vaani slightly nods. - "Yeah."

They both get into the car. Sonakshi has gotten up by now, Vaani checks on her while her driver sets the car for the road again. Vaani then turns back to the front and avoids the gaze with the person beside her. The driver ignitiating the engine speaks.

"And it's Tushar."

Vaani turns to look at him.

"The next time you wanna take a name while yelling on me."

Vaani rolling her eyes in light wonder, chuckles.

Tushar doesn't say anything and just gets onto the road now and starts to focus on his given job. Although he asked Vaani for something after getting into the car but he chooses to give her a little break and let her pick the correct time herself. He keeps driving quietly for a few minutes and then starts a conversation.

"He's lucky."

Vaani looks at him.

"Gautam."

"How can you.."

"Don't take it the wrong way, he just is."

"And... (Scoffs) do you mind explaining!?"

"I'd rather not. Explanation just gonna make it complicated."

Vaani looks at him for a few seconds and then explains herself only.

"I don't know what you have think about our relation. It's just special for me. And I... I just regret every moment when I couldn't be there for him. And I don't know... if he's lucky or not... but I am... I am. Because I had him."

Tushar keeps listening quietly.

"And saving him, it's the one and only thing I wanna do right now in my life. It is important for me. I... I didn't do anything earlier... because I guess I lost hope. I did. We all did... somewhere... but something has happened, recently... and... I don't know... what it is but now it's just... everything is about Gautam! And if he's lucky for this... then he might be lucky. Because I wanna believe that his time has come! Time for his happiness. He deserves happiness. He deserves everything. (Getting lost in thoughts.) I don't know... what's gonna happen when I'll see him. I don't think just a.. hug will be enough!"

Her eyes gets wet and before the aura turns into a little seriousness, Tushar changes the subject.

"Do you... mind telling 'the steps', we're near the van, I feel."

Vaani coming back to normal, explains him the plan.
