- CHAPTER 25 -
CONFESSION
Six months later.
Mumbai - In a pub.
"This is not how you mention the details, Urvi. Just look at it, this is all so mixed-up!" - Vaani is standing at the bar and correcting her intern who's at other side of the bar.
"I was in a hurry, Ma'am." – Urvi replies in a low voice.
"You'll always be in a hurry, if you're in this position. That's what this training is about. Start getting organised even in the hurry!"
"Yes, Ma'am."
Parth, her junior comes to her now – "Vaani, these are some documents to get sign." - Standing beside Urvi, he forwards the papers over the desk.
Vaani starts going through the file and tell him – "aa.. Yeah. Okay, just put it in a file in my office, I'll be there."
"Cool." – Parth replies and she again turns to Urvi.
"Get a break, Urvi! Then get on work." - Urvi looks in confusion. Vaani gestures her to do so – "go ahead."
"Vaani..?"
"Go!" – She commands Urvi now and turns to Parth who just called her. – "Yeah?"
"aa.." - He couldn't figure out words quickly and gestures with his fingers. – "There's.." - Vaani reads and turns back.
Wearing all black, clean with his looks and features, Tushar, is standing in front of Vaani. Vaani, who's in between an avoiding and un-avoiding shock, chooses to stay silent.
"Hi.. Vaani." – Tushar somehow starts the conversation.
Nodding Vaani replies – "hi..!"
"How are you.. Doing?"
"Great.. Great!!! Yeah."
Tushar try collecting words and – "can we.."
Vaani stays quiet.
"Talk?"
"Ah, yeah." - She looks around. – "Aa.. I.. I need to be.. In my office... right now, We can talk there, aa.." - She asks gesturing to move there.
"Yeah.. Yeah! Sure."
"Okay. Okay, let's. Cool."
After a few minutes of moving awkwardness, both are present in Vaani's office now. But still, the strange air and awkwardness has not left and both are standing still in silence. Then, digging deep with questions, Vaani starts speaking with putting one.
"How's Akshay?"
"He's good." – Tushar nods and tells. – "Yeah. Doing all fine."
"Working on other cases, I believe."
Tushar looks at her. – "yeah. He is."
Vaani nods now and keeps going the talk. – "He would be. It's his duty after all."
"Vaani.."
Vaani shaking her head defends her words. – "No.. I mean. No complaints." She sighs and again struggles with questions and emotions. – "I just.." – Now she manages her smile and deep breathes somewhere hiding her heartbeats. - "Here's one question.. Do you visit everyone a while later when getting done with a case?"
"Vaani, I know you are with many questions and I.. I have answers to all of them."
"No! I don't want any answers! I'm not looking for any. I was--" - A knock happens on the door. - "Come in."
