46.Isolation

                                                                 (Timothée's pov)

The space is as cold as ice as I feel the four men behind me push me into the four mirrored walls of this prison. There's a hammering sound of my heart in my chest while I look around the showcase room, and the sickly feeling travels up my body, causing my ears to ring.

Where is Amelia? How can I stop what's about to happen to her?

My thoughts are going a million miles per minute when the door across from me opens up. Amelia is shoved in the room and her big eyes look to me, and they look vacant but terrified at the same time. I want her to run into my arms. I wish I could protect for her from all of this, but my father's power is unmatched.

I lock my eyes into hers and try to give her look of consolation, but my expression betrays me. In the undergrounds I am merely a speck of dust in the wind. I hold no power. This is my fathers turf and he makes all the rules. I've seen the types of punishments he uses on uncooperative people down here. He doesn't hold back because after all, he has a reputation to uphold. He needs everyone to fear him to remain in power.If I even try to fight what's about to happen, he'd hurt Amelia in ways unimaginable.

Amelia's breaths are fast and shallow as she searches my pupils for a glimmer of hope that I can get us out of this, but I know that I can't. So we just stand there, staring at one another in defeat. The only emotion in our eyes being one of hopelessness.

The door next to Amelia opens again, and now Ansel walks in but to my surprise my father walks in right behind him with the same four men who dragged me in.

"I'm sorry it had to come to this, this is the only way you'll grow up." My father says smugly, as I grimace with a pained expression taking hold of my entire face.

The 4 guards seat me on the black chair that's in the middle of the room, pushing my down, and strapping my arms on the arms rests.

I don't even try to fight back. What's the point? 

"Today isn't the day to be try to prove something Timothee. The straps on your hands are designed to inflict pain. If you try to escape, they will only get tighter. If you try to resist, I can have those same straps electrocute you." My father says as the men bind my legs tightly to the legs of the chair as well. I just give him a blank stare.

This is the exact situation to attempt to do what Amelia and I do best, dissociate from the position we are currently in.

I hear Amelia whimper in the background which catches my fathers attention as he whips his head away from me, to face her directly. "Did you hear that darling? One wrong move during the showcase and Timothée pays the consequence. I've already discussed with Ansel what is expected from tonight's showcase before he came out here, and you are expected to follow his lead. You will be submissive and compliant, or your sweet boyfriend over here, will suffer." My father says as he leans closer to her.

I move my eyes to Ansel, who looks like he's trying to mask how afraid he is, but is failing miserably. I could tell by one glance at him that he isn't enjoying this any more than I am.

"Just stay quiet Mia." Ansel says in a whisper to Amelia and she seems to listen to him.

It makes something stir up inside me to see Ansel give Amelia orders and for her to take them. As sick as it sounds, I feel like she only should listen to me. I feel like she should only take orders from me.He has a strong effect on her, and it makes me seethe with jealously. I already feel myself boil over with anger and he hasn't even touched her yet.
