Sidon's Perspective-

Sidon peeked his head in the journalism room and saw the girl Link was chatting with the other day.

She was at her desk, typing away. There was a coffee next to her that had the name 'Zelda' on it.

"Hi. Zelda, right?" Sidon asked, walking up to her.

Zelda raised an eyebrow.

"What do you want?" She asks.

"I was just wondering if Link's here. I wanted to thank him."

"Link? No he's at fencing club."

"Fencing? But I thought he did journalism."

"No, he's not a part of journalism."

Sidon blinked, confused.

"I just asked him to help me with one article, I'm not really sure why he did two. He used to do journalism for a couple years before doing fencing, he just stops in to say hi." Zelda said, taking a sip of her coffee.

"Huh..."

"But if you want to find him, he's probably in the gym."

"Oh, okay. Thanks."

Sidon starts to leave.

"And congrats on your win!" Zelda calls.

"Thanks!" He smiles brightly before walking out.

Sidon walks to the gym and peeks in to see a guy practicing by himself.

Sidon walks in and the guy turns around, taking off his mask. Sidon smiles as he sees Link and walks over, shoving his hands in his pockets.

Link looked surprised and Sidon smiled sheepishly.

"Hey, Zelda said you might be here."

"What are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to thank you for the article but uh- seems you don't actually take journalism, huh?" Sidon tilts his head, smiling.

Link looks down and Sidon walks over, shrugging.

"It's fine, not like I care. But may I ask why you interviewed me? I mean, you're not a part of it."

"I uh- Zelda needed my help." Link said, not making eye contact.

"Yeah but she said you didn't need to do two articles yet you did." Sidon smiles and Link feels his cheeks heat up.

"I...just...wanted to get to know you, I guess." Link said in a quiet voice.

Sidon smiles and he grabs an extra foil.

"What are you doing?" Link tilted his head.

"I used to fence before doing swimming instead. Let's see if I can beat you." Sidon smiles, swiping his foil down.

Link smirks and steps a bit away before turning to face Sidon.

After a couple matches and Sidon getting defeated each and every time, Link stopped, taking off his mask.

"You're not too good at this." He smiled a bit.

"Yeah, I haven't done it in years so it makes sense." Sidon shrugs, "So how long have you been fencing?"

Link shrugs, "About a year and a half."

"Well you're really good."

Link's ears flushed red and he turned away, changing the subject.

"How long have you been swimming?" He asked.

Sidon shrugs, "I don't know...I think since I was twelve. I had been doing fencing for a couple years but I just didn't like it."

"So how many things have you done?"

Sidon hums, thinking.

"Well..it was mostly my parents signing me up for stuff. They tried to get me into gymnastics, boy scouts, sailing, golf, fencing, and my mom's still trying to get me into pole vaulting."

"Pole vaulting?" Link raises an eyebrow and Sidon shrugs.

"I don't know, they just want me to be active. Swimming's enough for me, though. I like it and that's what matters. What about you? Did you do a lot of sports before fencing?"

Link shrugs.

"Mostly just the normal kid stuff like soccer and basketball."

"You know, I never really got to do soccer."

"You've never done soccer?"

"Well, I did but only for like a month."

"Why'd you quit?"

"Uh just...it's..complicated." Sidon said, scratching the back of his neck.

Link looked worried but Sidon quickly shook his head.

"So did you do soccer for long?"

"Yeah, a couple years."

"Why don't you teach me then?" Sidon asks, "We can hang out sometime. There's a park near my house."

Link's eyes widened and he looked surprised.

"What?" Sidon asked.

"N-nothing."

"Cool! Here's my number." Sidon took out a pen and scribbled his number on Link's hand before leaving.

Link stood there, frozen in place, his face flushed red.

So the things Sidon listed out doing, my parents have made me and or my sister do those before. My mom asked if I wanted to do gymnastics, my sis is trying to get me into fencing, I used to do soccer before quitting after one game, my dad signed me and my sister up for sailing, I did golf, girl scouts, and my mom's trying to get me into pole vaulting.

I dont know why, I dont think she understands I'm a weak goofy goober who writes stories on the internet about a buff fish man having feelings for a stoic elf.
