Sunny sat between his boyfriend and his new girlfriend, smiling to himself. There was an old cartoon playing on TV that the three of them hadn't seen in years, and Aubrey seemed really focused.

"So, uh," Sunny whispered in Basil's ear, "should I take Aubrey on a date?"

Basil glanced at Sunny with surprise, but he nodded. "Maybe. Um...should we both do so?"

"I don't know. I've never done this polyamorous thing."

"You're the one who suggested it. Shouldn't you know more about it?"

"What are you guys whispering about?" Aubrey asked.

Sunny gulped and turned to Aubrey. For some reason, she made him feel just as childishly nervous as back then. "U-Um..."

"Sunny wants to take you out on a date!" Basil explained.

Aubrey's cheeks flushed, and she turned her head away. "...Ah. Right. I'm dating you guys, so...i-it makes sense we'd..."

"Right." Basil took the lead, which Sunny was eternally grateful for. "Anyway, Sunny wanted to take you on a one-on-one date. I wouldn't mind doing the same. Then, when we're all more comfortable with the situation, all three of us could! Does that sound okay?"

Sunny took Basil's hand and squeezed it as a "thank you." Basil squeezed back.

Aubrey thought for a moment, then nodded, averting her eyes. "That sounds...reasonable."

Basil smiled warmly, and he reached into his pocket, pulling out his wallet. He opened it and pulled out a hundred-dollar bill and held it out to Sunny.

"Here!" he chirped. "This should help you!"

Sunny took the money. One hundred dollars. Wow...

"Woah, dude." Aubrey stared at the money with wide eyes. "A hundred bucks? That's insane. All of that for our date?"

Basil nodded. "Is that okay?"

Sunny's eye sparkled as he gazed up at his boyfriend. "I love you so much."

Basil's cheeks turned bright red, and he laughed. "I love you too, Sunny! A-And I love you, Aubrey." He gave her a shy smile.

Aubrey's face turned red as well, and she averted her eyes. "Th...Thanks. Uh. I, um...love you, too."

Sunny set the hundred-dollar bill aside and took his partners' hands into his. He pressed a soft kiss to the back of each of them.

"Thank you both for everything," he murmured.

Basil and Aubrey's eyes both widened, and their faces flushed darker. The difference was, Aubrey looked away while Basil smiled warmly.

"Of course!" Basil beamed. "We love you!"

Sunny's heart flipped in his chest, and he couldn't hide the smile that made its way to his face.

I'm so freaking lucky...

Aubrey cleared her throat. "So, uh...when are we going on that date?"

Sunny tapped his chin, thinking. "Well, it's still early in the day. Do you want to do it today?"

Aubrey seemed to be a lot more sensitive today because she immediately turned red-faced.

"Um...sure." Aubrey fidgeted with a lock of her hair, braiding it. "That's fine. I've, uh, gotta go home and change. See if Mari will let you borrow her car."
