Sunny laid face-down in his bed with a groan.

"Chin up, Sunny!" Mari chirped. "It's not that big of a deal."

Sunny stared at her blankly, then raised an eyebrow.

After the Preacher had caught Aubrey and Sunny on a date (almost about to kiss, no less), the two of them made up a terrible excuse they were just hanging out. Once the Preacher left ("well, don't stay out too late!"), Aubrey and Sunny dealt with an awkward silence as they ate and got home. Sunny couldn't even bring himself to walk Aubrey to her door.

It had been three days since then, and Sunny hadn't left his room.

"Okay, that's it." Mari grabbed the back of Sunny's shirt, lifting hin easily. Sunny let out a yelp and scrambled in her grasp, prying at her fingers.

"You're going to make sure Basil knows you're okay, because that sweet, sweet boyfriend of yours has been worried sick." Mari placed Sunny onto his feet, then placed her hands on his shoulders, bending down so she was eye-level. "Then, you're going to march your butt over to Aubrey and make sure she's okay. Got it?"

Sunny narrowed his eyes.

"Don't give me that look!" Mari crossed her arms. "You gotta communicate. That's really important in relationships, especially polyamorous ones."

Sunny crossed his arms.

"I know it'll be awkward," Mari sighed, "but you have to talk to them. Poor Basil is completely out of the loop."

Sunny slumped over. "...Yeah, you're right."

Mari beamed.

"Can it." Sunny turned on his heel and left his room. He trudged into the bathroom with some clothes Mari had set out for him a few days ago, and he hopped in the shower, letting his mind wander.

Aubrey was always so cool and pretty, and she's definitely kissed someone before. What if she doesn't want to kiss Sunny, too? What if she breaks up with him and Basil after this???

Sunny shook his head quickly and focused on his shower. There was time to worry about it later.

For now, he had to worry about Basil.

-----------------------

Sunny stared at his lap, his face burning as his boyfriend stared at him with his beautiful blue eyes.

"Are you serious!?" Basil exclaimed. "Oh, wow! I'm so sorry it ended so badly, Sunny!"

Sunny groaned and flopped backwards on Basil's bed, covering his face. "There's no way I can face her now..."

"I-I'm sure it'll be fine!" Basil gave Sunny a warm smile. "I mean, if you're that worried about it, you and I could...you know...kiss."

Sunny's heart fluttered in his chest. It was true. Technically, if anyone deserved his first kiss, it was Basil. While Basil, like Aubrey, had kissed someone before (peer pressure with a game of Truth or Dare at school), he was...familiar. Safe. He was everything a first kiss should be...

"...I want to kiss you, too," Sunny mumbled, "but you're already my first partner. I want to give Aubrey something special too, you know?"

"Hm...I guess that makes sense," Basil nodded. "Then I'll support you, all the way! Just, um..." Basil's cheeks turned a light shade of red. "...D-Don't forget to kiss me too sometime, okay?"
