Here's another chapter! Sorry it's kind of a filler. At the time I wrote this, I was still figuring out where I was going with this.

Anyway...

Omori stood in the expanse, watching his lovers closely.

Basil lowered the hood of his cloak and hugged his lute to him. "Omori...why are you here? Is everything okay?"

Omori gripped his knife tightly in his hands as he trembled.

"Omori...why do you look so scared?" Aubrey stood beside Basil and tool his hand in hers.

"What is it you're afraid of?" Basil asked.

"Are you afraid of the monster?" Aubrey inquired.

"Is it because you can't trust him?"

"Do you not trust us to help you keep our Queen safe?"

"Do you not think that the Steed is by her side always?"

"Do you think the—"

Static.

Omori stumbled back, his breaths coming in in short, quick gasps.

Aubrey reached her hand forward, a moonstone ring on her finger. "Omori..."

"It's all deteriorating." Basil's citrine bracelet shone dimly.

"You're too afraid."

"What was once your safe space has become a place of trouble."

"You've noticed it, too...haven't you?"

"You've been going into Black Space so much now..."

"What is it you're afraid of?"

"Are you afraid of the Monster?"

"Are you afraid of becoming him?"

"Are you afraid of what you will lose...or what you have already lost?"

"Are you afraid of something else entirely?"

"One day, Omori...you will have to face this Monster and end this cycle once and for all."

"Will you stand alone with your diamond crown, our King? Or will you let us stand beside you?"

"Either way...you have a choice."

"Either way...you will have to face the end."

Sunny woke up with a start, struggling to breathe. He looked around fearfully before relaxing at the sight of Hero and Mari asleep side by side in the hospital bed.

Sunny looked out the window and stretched, noticing that the moon was still out. He walked over to the notepad and pencil that sat not-so far away, and he scribbled a note.

When he was done, he exited the room and walked into the hall. He froze, realizing he didn't know how to leave.

Luckily, a doctor was leaving just then, so Sunny followed them out the door. He spotted a bus station nearby and sat on one of the benches.

It was quiet. Well, as quiet as it can be for the city. His mind drifted to Mari and Hero, and he sighed.

Mari was going to undergo surgery for amputation tomorrow.
