It only took a soft push from Lilith for the door to creak open. The sound echoed inside the dark house, it was pitch black. Suddenly everyone remained quiet, would not dare say anything or even move the slightest. The air totally changed from being dark, to fucked up.

"T-There's no lights..." finally, Aiden was the first one to speak, his voice trembling.

"We have flashlights, I think this is enough." said Keane as he held one, while Charlotte held the other. He lifted and pointed it through the door, revealing the halls inside. I saw him gulping his fear down.

"Let's go." I took a step forward, a cue for them in front of me to start walking. They soon did, slowly and carefully one by one through the door.

"The mansion's big, everybody be alert and careful." said Charlotte with a firm tone and it all caught us off guard a little. For Aiden, a lot.

"Woah, Charlotte, serious much?" as heavy as the atmosphere just a second ago, Aiden successfully irritated Charlotte once again. Though it did help us lift the tension a bit. For Charlotte, he made it worse.

"You are one big attention whore, aren't you?" she asked in a jesting tone, her eyelid twitching.

"A little bit, yeah." he answered sarcastically with a smirk. The others giggled in the background, except for her, who's obviously suppressing the urge to punch him. This is Aiden not drunk, by the way. And I happen to know what he's like when he is. And you don't wanna know how much you realize the gratitude you should have for having a normal mentality.

Caily interjected with a high pitched tone, "You guys are so silly, aren't you?" as if talking to little kids. Her silly tone dropped as well as her smile. "Now shut it." followed by a firm scold. We continued on further into the house.

"Be careful with your steps," said Keane. "and stay together."

I could feel everybody's on alert and the built up tension from the eerieness of the mansion. As the flashlights illuminated the room, we could see worn out furniture, covered with cobwebs and decaying moss. The hallways appeared to be never-ending, a maze of abandoned history that once lived in this mansion. It was a place that once was a home, and we could tell from the hanging picture frames on the wall, but it framed nobody, the pictures suggested to have been once burnt or destroyed.

"So Charlotte, you really don't know about this place?" asked Keane who was at the front, shifting the furnitures aside to make way for us. Since it was a place filled with scattered broken debris of wood and furniture, a scene of chaos and disarray.

"No, not really. I have no idea this shit was here."

Caily added, "How come you haven't noticed it before? This house would probably be visible even from your roof." Lilith was with me at the back, so we had less light. I suggested she should grab onto me and so she did.

"Um, well, it's one of my dad's old houses. We have a lot, anyway. And I have Xavier to schedule and plan things up." woah, the richness is comjng out. It's almost like I'm being shoved the fact that I can't even afford to buy a toaster. Toasters are expensive nowadays, and I blame the government for this. Or Charlotte. Either one deserves the blame.

Aiden, who was facing the opposite direction, muttered under his breath snarkily, "Okay, okay, we get it, you're rich."

"What was that?" Charlotte quickly retorted, whirling around to face him.

"Uhh, nothing!" he blurted out, waving his hands in surrender.

"Good lord, fighting every minute? Seriously? You guys can't take a break?" Caily scoffed, her face wrinkling in disbelief.
