The prime of the species

Phuwin was chilling with his boyfriend at his office because he could do that now. Everyone at the office at Pond's office referred to him as his khun Pond's scary mate because apparently he had a very judgemental face. He once heard one of the other employees, an omega say.

"Khun Pond's mate is so pretty, but every time he looks at me, I feel like he is judging my entire existence and all my life choices."

He probably was just thinking about what to eat that day, and she happened to be in his line of sight. He doesn't even remember meeting her. He was flattered that she thought he was pretty. Although he already knew that, it's nice when other people acknowledge it.

The point was he was just chilling, looking pretty and apparently scary and judgemental at the same time when he got a call from his younger brother panicking. He couldn't understand a word of what Gemini was saying, and Gemini didn't snap at him like he would usually. He knew it was serious when Gemini called him and not their older brother Joong.

"Okay, you are not making any sense. Did you get into a fight with 10 other alphas?" Phuwin asked and saw from the corner of his eyes as Pond paused on his work and looked at him.

"No, Fot has gone into heat. He's in my den. He's pretty out of it and I think I might go into rut soon because his pheromones have an effect on him but I can't just leave him here because my Alpha refuses to leave it's mate." Gemini finally said, which made much more sense than his earlier ramblings.

"Fuck! How long do you think you have before you go in full rut?" Phuwin asked.   He saw Pond standing up walking closer to him. Typical alphas.

"I don't know. I feel like my skin is burning, I have too much built in energy, more than usual. I am strangely calm, I think Fot is doing that. I feel like there isn't enough blankets and pillows in the den and I've collected every piece of blankets, sheets and pillows I could find in the apartment except the ones in the room P'Joong sleeps in. There isn't enough food in the apartment. What if Fourth goes hungry?" Phuwin listened as his younger brother panicked once more.

"Calm down. I'll bring you food and all the necessary supplies." Phuwin replied. Usually it was Joong who took care of Gemini during his rut, but an alpha with an omega his alpha has already identified as its mate is extremely territorial. Family or not, Joong wouldn't be able to pass through the front door. Gemini probably has marked it already with his pheromones.

"Hia... I've never spent a rut with an omega before." He heard his younger brother say. This was serious because Gemini called him his voluntarily. He couldn't even enjoy the moment and tease his baby brother.

"Fuck! Do you have condoms?" Phuwin asked. And he heard Pond's low growl at that question. He rolled his eyes at the jealousy.

"No." Was all Phuwin heard Gemini say. He heard some talking in the background, and Gemini hung up on him. Well, he probably should drop by the pharmacy from his way at the grocery store unless if he was trying to be an uncle.

"Sorry love, but I have to leave. I'll call you later." Phuwin said as he stood up to leave, but Pond grabbed his wrist in a bruising grip that made him wince.

"Where are you going?" Pond asked. He noticed that Pond's eyes had small golden sparks in them whenever he got like this.

"I have an alpha in rut to take care of." Phuwin replied, and Pond tightened his grip on his wrist, which was starting to hurt but eased the hold a bit as Phuwin saw him release a calming breath.

"I can't allow you to do that." Pond said, and Phuwin saw that he meant that.

"Would you ease down on your jealousy "Oh mighty alpha." My baby brother has gone in an unexpected rut, and I need to get supplies for him." Phuwin said, tugging his hand away from Pond's hold, but it was of no use.
