"I told you she had a sixth sense!"

Gigi shakes her head as we all stare at the time running off on the big screen. There's ten minutes left to the game and the score is currently tied.

"She's like a bad luck charm," Vance adds.

"We should make her miss the next game to see if we get better results without her," Riley suggests, sharing a nod of agreement with the rest.

"She is right here, assholes," I deadpan.

"Yeah, we just established that was exactly the problem," Gigi presses her lips together, patting my shoulder with pity.

Flipping her and the others off, I shake my head at their nonsense. The two girls chuckle next to me, nudging my arm as to say they're just joking.

Sabrina breaks our moment, "No!"

We all turn our head at the sound of my best friend's voice, whose leg bounces as the other team scores another goal. Just like that, they regain their advantage.

A synchronised sigh roars through our side of the crowd. Some bring their hands to their heads, others simply stare in shock.

Coach tries to reassure our players and does he best to keep them focused. Right now we need them motivated to score again.

To a first game of the season, the scenario could be a lot worse. The truth is that most of the guys are still getting to know each other, seeing how they can find their glue.

Adding all the nerves to it, from being the first time for many to play in such a big arena, with a lot more people watching...they're doing the best they can.

"Look we have the puck!" Mason announces, pointing at the glass that separates us from the ice rink.

Following his gaze I watch as Malakai blocks one of the other team's left wing and steals the round object, passing it to Dex.

With quick moves and a few tricks of his own, our right wing passes the ball to Theo, who stays on the center of the ice.

We all stand up, "Shoot!"

The crowd goes quiet for a moment, everyone staring in the same direction. It's now or nothing. We need this point.

The torturing slow motion stretches as the puck flies from the stick towards the net, piercing through the defensemen and then the goalies' legs.

Watching it go inside, the whole right side of the arena vibrates in celebration. Screams and cheers soar through the air like wild wind.

"Theo! Theo! Theo!" the euphoric crowd chants.

Beaming at the praise, the blonde skates past us until he reaches the cameraman. On the big screen we watch him cross his arms cockily and do a little celebratory dance.

"That's our friend right there, bitches!" Gigi flips the other team's supporters off, sticking out her tongue mockingly.

"Go Theo!" Riley screams.
