The monitors in the Freckles' mental space glowed eerily blue as Tex waited silently for Freckles to continue. She had seen, done, and experienced a lot. Yet she had never quite experienced something like this.
"Now, if you are done with the sarcasm, let us begin Beta. Though I suppose you go by Tex now, huh Alison?" Freckles asked.
Tex was completely unnerved by how Freckles knew all this information, however, that was why she was here. Yet, this was still very different than when she was in Caboose's mind. The fact she could feel the wind blowing on her along with being able to taste her tea were clue enough for her. Yet, it didn't feel like the end of his powers, only the beginning.
"Yes," Tex said as she took another sip of her Tea. "I was curious as to how you suddenly appeared in the canyon. While being buried under bodies and rubble."
"The canyon has been around a long time. It can't be impossible for you to miss something." Freckles replied.
"I didn't say I looked."
"You didn't have to."
Tex sighs, "How about we stop dancing around the topic? You were actively present in Caboose's mind without actually being there. Last I checked, the UNSC doesn't have that kinda of tech."
"And they never will."
"..."
"I suggest we take different forms so we can be... more comfortable for the details of my story."
"We should, or I should?" Tex asked tentatively.
Freckles remain silent. Tex sighs and takes a sip of tea through her helmet. She hated the silent types. Fine, she'll play his game.
In a moment her form began to change. Her armor slowly disappears, revealing a woman in her 20s. She was dressed casually, yet her outfit hugged her curves.
She wore a white shirt with a button-red jacket over top, with the jacket's top 2 buttons off so her breasts could breathe. Her blue jeans stretched down to her thigh-high boots. Her hair was tied up into a loose-fitting ponytail, with a blue hair band. Her green eyes stared expectantly at Freckles.
Freckles form began to change as well, yet it differed from Texas's. While Texas armor faded off her body, Freckles' form seemed to dissipate into smoke. The smoke revealed a man in his 60s dressed in a camouflage tuxedo, a rocket launcher, and a minigun strapped to his back.
"So this is how you see yourself huh?" Tex asked with a smirk. "Got to admit, with how Caboose acts I thought you have puppy dog ears."
"Despite what you may think," Freckles began, his voice very different now, "I feel that I am unworthy of such a position considering all that I've done."
Texas was quite surprised. Not at the fact his voice became a smooth deep yet very human voice, or how he sees his position. She was surprised that snacks suddenly appeared.
Why weren't they here earlier!?
"I felt the time wasn't right for them." Freckles answered.
"Great, now you're reading my mind. What can't you do?" Tex asked with an eye roll.
"More than you think." Freckles said as Tex grabbed a muffin and took a bite out of it.
"Hmmm, so this is what blueberry tastes like," Tex says to herself. "Kinda nice to taste something."
"Shall I begin my tale?" Freckles politely asks.
"After you tell me how the idiots in the canyon are doing. I know these kinda things take a while." Tex replies flippantly.
"Very well." Freckles says a monitor from the sky floats down. It was the size of a small house, yet it landed far enough away so they could see what happened on screen without straining their necks.
"Here is what they are currently up to." Freckles said to her.

"Oh, Blue team!" Sarge shouted to Tucker, "Before you go, maybe we should talk about optional equipment on your new robots."
Tucker quickly became confused. "What optional equipment!?"
"All you said you wanted was a body, we didn't talk about features," Sarge said with a smile under his helmet.
"Like what?" Tucker asks.
"You know, undercoating, extended warranty, features, man, come on. Like do you want them to be able to use both arms at once?" Sarge asked.
"Of course," Tucker shouted.
"Asynchronous arm movement is... optional!"
"What? Oh man, I told Church they would try to screw us!" Tucker groans as Caboose and Donut leave for the Blue base. "What about the feet?"
"Did you want feet?" Sarge asked innocently
"Yeah, we want feet!" Tucker shouted.
"Sorry, feet are optional." Simmons joined in.
"What's on the bottom of its legs?"
"Legs are optional dumbass, try paying attention to the fine print." Grif tossed in.
"What fine print!?"
"Fine print is optional. Should have had us write what you wanted down." Sarge informed.
"Oh man, what a ripoff," Tucker shouts in frustration.
"Options are optional," Sarge added in.
"What isn't optional?" Tuckers shout in exasperation.
"You look like a nice guy, don't worry, we'll work something out. Have you thought about financing? How's your credit? I can offer you a free set of high-quality mud flaps. And a lube job. You won't be disappointed! I've been told my lube jobs are fantastic!" Sarge shouted to Tucker.

The screen then turns off, revealing a blank sky.
"...So glad I'm not there for that," Tex says to herself.
"Sarge did make a point on the negotiations. If the Blue team wished not to be screwed over, they should have a written agreement. Lawyers do exist for a reason." Freckles replied.
"Wow. A robot defending a lawyer. Who would have thought?" Tex asked.
"While I do have more to say on the subject, I would rather dally no longer. I have a story to tell. It is important for the future of this timeline."
Tex stares at the butler for a moment. "What are you going on about?"
The screen suddenly turns back on showing their universe.
"Despite what you may think, this is not our current universe. It's the first iteration of it." Freckles began with a blank, yet tired look.
"Long ago, in a different time, I was just a simple combat robot. Designed to eliminate all of the UNSC enemies. I was set on a ship to be taken for field tests in the Circinius system. However, the ship I was on crash-landed in the chorus system. That is where I meet my master, Caboose."
An image of Caboose looking at the screen as he moves a dead body to the side. Tex noticed that the armor seemed different.
"Why is he wearing different armor?" Tex asked.
"Because you were erased."
It suddenly clicked for her. "You're from the future."
"Was. But we have yet to get there." Freckles say as the screen switches to a view of the Blue base in a trashed canyon.
"After all, this is merely iteration 0."
