I mean in the pilot episode we saw Barry correctly guess the exact make and model of a car using nothing but its tire treads. And in Arrow, Barry saves Oliver's life using rat poison. In episode two correctly identifies the number of robbers and their shoe sizes based off of foot prints. But since then it seems. Art is as dumb as a rock around Cisco, Caitlin, and Chester. I mean Barry clearly knows the human body well enough to be some sort of medic's assistant. He diagnosed and saved Oliver in five minutes, after being kidnapped. He also knows something about building gadgets and devices. In Supergirl he builds earplugs to help defend against Silver Something's screeches, he does the same against Black Canary's doppleganger. So it just feels like Barry is no help at all when in fact he should be one of the most vital parts of the team, outside of being the Flash. He should help in the med bay and in workshop. So in conclusion I just think that they're discrediting how smart Barry is. I mean he's a CSI, he clearly knows a little about science.
